Never played tm4, but car customization is such a good concept in the twisted metal universe, I'm actually surprised they didn't include that into other twisted metal games
TM4 is one of my favorites specifically for the created car feature. Not only was a great way to not get sucked into playing the same characters, but it also meant you didn’t have to see the god awful endings that some of the characters have. I’m shocked they haven’t added it back since 4.
I think the hate a with auger comes from the fact he replaced slam in TM 3.
When I was younger I had an obsession with those "Hippie vans" so I remember almost always picking the van. lol
I wish microblast had the funnybomb, it totally fits his character.
It is super fun but I just wish they gave us more custom special weapons and more vehicle types. I do like how we can make some previous Twisted Metal contestants like Spectre and Club Kid in this.
I remember when I was a kid I just made as many custom cars as possible. Never beat the game as a custom car as a kid but i still had fun.
I know im late for this comment, but yea Rogue Trip! Super fun and cool cars. Plus it seems that a big part of u liking a map is when theres lots of cool secret areas, interactables, gimmicks, etc. If so u will love rogue trip, thats how every map is. Also fun fact: it was the game that the creators of TM1 and TM2 made after Sony sold the TM rights to 989studios. So the gameplay is great like TM2 as well!
Rogue Trip is amazing. My favorite car combat game after TM2. Banger of an OST.
Rogue Trip definitely deserves a full playthrough. The games has just the best maps in genre.

I still do have rogue trip, critical depth, vigilante 8, vigilante 8 2nd offense, & star wars demolition & each twisted metal game
You def should play Rouge Trip. It's a different spin on the car combat genre as you are more trying to accumulate money by picking up passengers while killing everyone.
Oh, and the OST is amazing, it's what introduced me to The Mighty Mighty Bosstones.
Small cars are the late 50’s Corvette, Austin Mini Cooper, and the Mazda Miata. Medium cars are the Lamborghini Diablo, BMW 5 series, and the Cadillac El Dorado. Large cars are the Ford Explorer, Chevrolet C/K, and the Chevrolet Chevy Van or Dodge Tradesman.
From what Im aware the development of this game was really rushed so I could easily see there not being female screams due to a time issue. Think that might have been what led to create a car as well with it being a bunch of assets meant for characters that never got finished. Which would explain why looks that match up pretty well for Hammerhead, Crimson Fury, and Thumper are in there.
I love the create-a-car. The only thing we've gotten that's even remotely close was the custom paint shop from TM 2012. You could give every vehicle a Sweet Tooth color scheme and then pick Sweet Tooth as the driver. You could make some awesome alternate skins for the vehicles in 2012.
TM4 had it better though imo. You can recreate classic TM characters, with a near perfect version of Crimson Fury with his TM1 special. I really enjoyed making Transformers characters in TM4 though. You can recreate Movieverse Ratchet, Movieverse Bumblebee, Rodimus, Jolt, Movieverse Ironhide, Flamewar, Outback, etc.
Flamewar is the most spot-on imo. Just pick large car 3 (Chevy G-30, the "hippie van") and choose paint job A with or without options, then choose the twintorchers as special and "Flame on, baby!" for the taunt and there she is. You can also do the same van with paint option C for Rodimus.
Rogue trip is definitely worth playing
It was developed by some of the creators of the first and second TM

Tbh, the create a car system to me is probably their attempts to add what would have been Outlaw, Hammerhead and Crimson Fury to the base game based on the options. It only was added because of time restraints more than likely.
create a car should make a return if they ever make a new twisted metal game and let us make our own version of different vehicles and hopefully we actually get a wish
Vehicular combat games that I have played are these: Twisted Metal saga, Vigilante 8, Vigilante 8: 2nd Offence, Vigilante 8: Arcade, Rogue Trip: Vacation 2012, Interstate '76, Motor Mayhem and Destruction Derby!
That black lambo is actually my favorite create a car. I named mine "Dark" and chose the Detnoball as his special weapon. I like to imagine an alternate version of myself as the driver and I'd make "special" challenges in death match mode (ex. Crimson Fury VS. Minion and his gang on hard mode).
TM4 is definitely the most underrated in the series; you couldn't do any of that in TM3.

I have really enjoyed watching your videos on tm4!! Was my favorite tm game of my childhood for sure with the wide array of weapons, characters, and cheesy ways to beat opponents. Been hoping it would appear on the PS store but no such luck yet 😞 definitely subbing to your channel!

Power Rocket is addiitional secret special (fast cooldown and cap on 20 charges) for created cars but you can choice it only with cheats (its saveable).

Funny how you said those 8 MB memory card "only held" like 20 games when I can only hold like 5 games total at one time on my ps5 lol (only slightly exaggerating. I might realistically have like 8 full games on it rn with basically no space left) They can fit so much memory in to stuff now but everything is much larger in memory size that it's almost as if we still have only 8 MB.

P.P.S no, it does NOT feel like orbital. it is faster (180 mph top without turbo vs 150 for orbital, and armor is even worse than microblast, dies of 4 proximity mines a t place)

Your custom car is the love child of Crimson fury and Spectre 😁 and I love it, ha Baconaitor classic, and pizza hut hands down because they are only one who has stuff crust, Diamonio's is trash pizza I've had better cardboard from Highschool😂
How about mods where you put in tm cars in it. Rouge trip someone made a mod for that

As for twisted metal. In all honesty. If it gets another seasons. The first season should be called high octane. Then the second season gets called twisted metal.
Cause it wasnt even a tournament.
