Brother, you have taken me down memory lane with this video. When I lived in NC, and fished tournaments regularly, one of my most favorite things to do was target the schooling fish. I always kept one spincast rod rigged with a rattle trap (chrome and black or blue and chrome). I’d throw at every busting school within sight. Absolutely loved it! Caught largemouth, whitebass, and stipers regularly on Kerr lake. And you never knew till you threw what was busting! Great times!!

I agree 100 percent with your argument about kayak v boat and the "grass is greener" attitude in a boat. In a kayak you don't have the choice so you have to be more thorough and work a spot harder.

For the record, I watched in two segments, including part of a restful late Sunday afternoon. Still worthwhile to check in to see what's going on. Your marathon video illustrates how patience allows one to encounter changing activity through an extended period of the day. It teaches us not to assume that what one encounters during a single limited period does not dictate what one may encounter during another period. Still intriguing to be exposed to the unpredictable possibilities!
I still wonder if that big fish was hung on something on the bottom, but what do I know, I've never caught a catfish over 40 # 😢😅😅😊 . I think you are the Larry Bird of the catfishing world 😅😂 👍 👍

Another awesome raw and uncut very excited about the 3 hr video I think the 4 pluss hour video weather cat fish carp or ultralight will do good. I'm still watching just broke the 2hr mark had some work to get done before dark but regardless I will finish it thanks for taking us along and letting us enjoy the experience on a day I couldn't get out myself it definitely filled the void for me as I'm sure it does for alot of people

This is insane timing! I’ve watched all your ultralight videos and today was my first time out on the water in my first kayak so you know I was ultralight fishing! I was using a 2.5” gulp minnow and caught a fun amount of white bass about 8-11” long. I took your suggestion on bait and I instantly caught fish 🎣

The 2.5" is my go to for multi species...small mouth, trout, pan fish, walleye, pickerel, pan fish. . I've caught big trout and one channel cat on the 4" as well.

I put your long videos on while I’m laying in bed so it stays on til the tv turns itself off and because I usually fall asleep after about 20 minutes I end up watching it over a 5 days or so but because I fall asleep with the tv on a lot I end up playing the one video 4 or 5 times so u end up with lots of watch time 😅

GREAT VIDEO !! It was a BUFFET OF FISH. Small Bluegill, Big Bluegill, Bass busting, White Bass, Skip Jack. Talking about how the Blooms smell good then cast right into it- And i could not help but laugh when you said Big fish eat Small fish and wondered if people were like that and the first thing i thought of is NOT shopping at Walmart LOL!! That Bass is showing off his new Lip piercing, Can't wait till the next one and a CARP video coming up!!

My mate took me on his boat and he had a ‘lure retriever’ - a heavy lead weight on a string that he clips on and slides down the line and it ‘bashes’ the jig head off the tree. I made one for my kayak and it’s a game changer. Gets the lure off the snag 19/20 times. So good.

you da man J i love the ultra light vids. looking forward to your new experimental video on these long vids i just get me a can of boiled peanuts an a glass of tea and its on like donkey kong. the bluegill are looking good man. on a weekend i can chew up one of these vid up pretty easy. i appreciate them because their aint much goin on here on the weeknights. i know u go through a ton of jig heads and buy in bulk but i had no idea about u being able to select your hook size on those heads. thats the biggest issue in the stores is finding small hook jig heads and ones that dont have a lead barb below the head because it tears the gulp. im for sure checking those out gets old taking pliers and twisting that lead barb section off . dang bluegill mow the yard for pete sakes. your commentary is funny as heck man if i followed the entire video this comment would be several paragraphs long i appreciate you keeping the vibe good my brother you for sure have the best job in the word hands down. i cant lie your vids get me excited to get out and fish. its good to here about Daphney look forward to ole baby cheetah will be making a appearance soon. white bass and herp'ed up bass "ya gotta be careful fish" lol i l got some of the luma glow color the other day too. idk if its the camera or what but the water color looks beautiful bro

I have been a sub for awhile. Have watched countless of these ultralight videos. Never fished with the gear. Took a vacation recently and used the 1" gulp minnows on heavier line 8 and 10lb 1/32oz jig head for the first time. Caught my first crappie and many after, bluegill, bass and even had a channel cat hit it. Best part was having my kids in on the action. Most fun I have had fishing in years. Ready to set it up on ultralight rod and 2lb line. So much fun. Thanks for the videos! Whats a great tip to keep the gulp minnows on jig? We were losing them on just about every fish maybe every other fish?
Glad to hear you are having fun with it. Try a smaller hook. A number 8 size hook is perfect for the 1” gulp. Larger hooks will cause them to tear quicker

One advantage of fishing vicariously with you is that I get to eat sloppy tacos while in the kayak with you and you don't notice the mess I'm making.
