- The 1926 coronation of King Prajadhipok in Thailand marked the first time such a ceremony had ever been captured on film.
Not much of that rare footage has been seen by the public until now. As Thailand prepares to crown a new king, film archivists have restored and released additional footage from the event.

The coronation of the King of Thailand Deserved praise And registered as the most tangible and intangible cultural heritage in the world of the UNESCO organization
@Setting things, straight. This one Is just a ritual to ascend the throne in accordance with the rule of law in Thailand That has been around since the Ayutthaya and Rattanakosin periods, lasting over 700 years Which is difficult to find Thai people believe that one generation will receive only one visit. And is a manifestation of the old culture, which is the civilization of an independent nation There is stability that governs the king who has mercy on the people to be happy. Thai people do not want the world to think what you do for the world. You are not a superhero. But is the center of the minds of the whole Thai people to love and unite
Would have been great if they found some Thai music to accompany this video
Look likes background music is Balinese not Thai.
Beware! Overproud Indonesian incoming

Welcome everybody to Thailand. 🇹🇭
Slithren Boy He is king in my country I both respect and love him.
My great-grand father was known to by this thai king. He gifted my g-grandfather bespoke mahogany furniture and a tea set and invited him to a party
saaj90 May I ask who your great grand father was? Did he work for the King?
@@supriyawilawanthanaphum7443 No, he was of indian decent and he owned a maritime shipping company that traded all around the indian ocean. I never actually met him but my the furniture he gifted is still in my grandparents house in India. My grandparents told me that the king thought he had too much influence and wealth, so he gifted him and invited him to parties to show his dominance and authority over him.

0:49, isn't this look usually reserved for the "class dunce" as punishment? Dude can't move his head because either the hats falling off, or his entire head with it.
That’s 7 KG of gold and diamonds, to remind the sovereign that Kingship is a privilege and burden, and that each decision and action must be done with constant effort.
Mark you fool.
Not insulting the king but thats a cool cowboy hat
That hat so expensive because make form bone budism on this hat
It's called a slouch hat which was popular in Europe during the late 17th century and later developed to be a military uniform (still in use in some country today). The hat firstly appears in Thai record as the king's robe during the 18th century, possibly by the influence of the Spanish colony nearby (the Philippines). That's why it's similar to a cowboy hat considering that the US cowboy hat also got the influence from the Spanish in Mexico.

Fast forward to the new King... A lot of people don't like him.
But I would most likely stand behind 1929 King.
that seems to be the word on the street
@@mrtedclayton - When I was there last year, we were fortunate enough to speak in candor with many locals, and they definitely don't like the new one; however the last king that recently passed was held in very high regard.
Yeah he doesn't have a good reputation. Firstly, because his dad, Bhumibol was conferred with the title 'the great', and was called King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great. So it is tough for the people to let go of the former king. Secondly, he fathered five children through adultery and then disowned them in 1996 after their mother was accused of adultery as well. He has also been married four times and his fourth wife is only six months older then his oldest child, Princess Bajrakitiyabha.
@@NeverMetTheGuy You just talk to "someone" that don't love they own country.
I'm Thai and I love my king.
Family and marry is personal issue. Don't you see even the king's children have different mother they still love each others. This is happy royal Thai family.
You just some outsiders you don't know anything, I mean "the real details". So stop spread the junk news, Please.

U are right

Hmm. Did the current Thai King did just exactly that in his coronation? The washing of face with water and brushing leaves in his arms, etc. in public.... didn't noticed those.
As a Thai-Korean living in the UK, I never had access to books banned in Thailand but I read and any Thai living somewhere else, read, it open your mind on corruption
No way I'm gathering to carry one person in a large fancy chair, though their system is a monarchy so I'll let that be them.

K KK 2.0 The Southeast Asian countries are considered as Indianized states. We borrowed a lot beliefs from India. Vocabulary is one of them. Sanskrit and Pali words were borrowed and have been used in contexts similar to French words in English.
Many countries in Asia influenced by Indian religion, also Chinese cuture, which are big countries.
Religion influences culture.
Maybe same as Muslims, have Muslim names which in Arabic language. And adopt some Arab culture.
