All of physical reality is 'simply' the current continuum state of all forces (energy if you like) flowing from Now causing the next Now. We perceive time because 1) physical reality is changing, 2) we have memory storing previous states, and 3) our brain compares now to stored memory. No memory a/o no change = no perception of time. The universe is just running/flowing. And our universe's Big Bang wasn't a beginning of time; it was a Conservation of Energy state change (from sub-quantum 'soup' into descrete particles). As infinite and random as it all is, it is definitely a wonder to be conscious.
