go and eat by myself all the time . seems strange in the beginning , but get used to it after a while. same as traveling alone. gives one the freedom to eat and do things at your own schedule and timing .
A charming young lady dining alone. The young men of Sydney must be blind! I was also surprised there was only one curry on offer for $89. The duck looked like it was cooked superbly, was it as succulent as it appeared? Great video Janice!
Nice interior of the dining buffet, very elegant. Quite wide variety of types of food, and seafood section is appealing. Same as you, I never tried truffle mashed potato too, sure taste good, can see the texture is smooth ;) and roast pork belly, super crisp, so irresistable that you definitely can't miss it.
All the buffets you have introduced are on my bucket list upon my return to Sydney! You did a fantastic job on this blog!!! You must of been really full on all the dishes you tried!!!
😋 I went to the old original Sydney Casino buffet in the mid 90’s for $10 🤪 prawns 🦐 use to cost $10 per kilo 🟢 bonus food after the first kilo of prawns 🦐
If you want something potato and truffle at home, Woolies in the new Christmas line has roasted baby potatoes in duck fat and truffle butter and for a woolies product they were really good .
Props to smashing a buffet on your own haha pick me if you ever need a wingman next time!! and lol chicken nuggets! I haven’t been to The Star buffet in ages.
Wow i only subscribe to your blog today watched now 2 blogs the $50 skewer and not the star buffet and seriousley cant wait to watch more very good infomation and truthfull on every levle thank you janice campbelltown nsw viewer . 😋👍
Hi Janice, nice video ,surprised that Sydney has Razor Clams, do you know if they were local or imported? That's sad you were eating alone, if you ever need a dinner companion I'm available 😀😃🙂 haha
Tried it last night, pretty good. Ate plenty of oysters and scallops on the shell. Crab, prawns, lamb, sirloin steak, salmon, stewed beef, roast duck, papadums, sushi, pizza, roast leg ham. And a carafe of sprite 😂
The seafood section looking a bit lackluster 😔, granted we recently came out of lockdown. Not sure if the Asian in me would say it's worth. *Update* - tried Butcher's Buffet in EW; for $35 it's quite worth (esp. for a big eater like myself 😂) but the beef options were quite chewy. Definitely would just opt to fill my plate with the frozen pork thin slices, but I would go again if I wanted a relatively cheap 'bang-for-your-buck'.
Wow! So many different foods,.. and the restaurant itself looks very nice! Were you able to get home before the coma set in? Looking forward to the next one!
Geez, I have to go back to Sydney, too many places I want to try since I am watching your videos. When I try something that I never ate before I am many time just like you are here: 10:10. I just don't know what to think of it because it is so unknown to my taste buds. When you travel back to Asia, please try Korea! I never been there and I am very curious about it... Or maybe I should just book my own ticket and go see by myself!
Janice , Why didn’t you call? I’m down for all-you-can-eat anytime. That said, that was a first-class effort on buffet execution. Appreciate the expert guidance . And the quantity… Well done.
I've always wanted to film there, but with plates of Prawns 😅😅 Your audio is amazing, I know it can get really loud there. That's another thing, I don't want to lug around, dead cats. Lol. Any tips?
Always wanting to try this buffet but never have a chance. BTW, have you heard of a new Hong Kong Street Food opened just recently in Rhodes Central? You may find yourself back in Hong Kong.
You have a big appetite. You managed to smash through all the food available at the buffet. What's the time limit at Star Buffet these days? It used to be 2hrs but I think it went down to 90 mins.
I was nearly going to go this week. Thanks for the video, you helped me make my mind up, not to go. It looks very basic. Not much variety in salad section, or dessert. One curry, dry look meat. For $90, I thought it would look better. Thanks again. Love your vids 😊
Omg Janice I swear I just watched a Philadelphia cheese add on UA-cam and you were doing the voice over. Is this legit? I know your voice, I’ve watched all your vids
Out of all the Buffets in Sydney, you have been to, what has been your favourite? Am planning a trip to Sydney for my wedding Anniversary in September and can't decide what one to pick.
I love ❤️ when you do the buffet videos all of them have been amazing ,I agree if your going to have dumpling 🥟 you have to have the fresh from a Yum cha place ..Thanks for giving all the food a try I love your reviews and I would be the same if I went would be eating all the seafood ..x💖🥰
I think the $49 lunch buffet is better value…while there isn’t oysters (sometimes there is) there was basically everything else and for $40 less….I would have been disappointed in that dinner if I had gone.
Janice, I think you are too diplomatic! All of the roast meats, you can see, were ultra dry. The pasta looked pretty mushy and overcooked. Har gow looked like just finely minced prawn. But we can see when you enjoy something, you really enjoy it! Thanks for all the videos, you really give us a lot of ideas of where to go, places we have never thought of before
Yikes not The Star Harvest Buffet... and paying full price as well... I went there a few months back when they had it on for 1/2 price... even at half price I wouldn't go back. The quality is really lacking there... seafood were below par (actually went to the seafood markets for lunch the same day) light and day difference... ALL their food were below average, as you said har gow would be better at yum cha place... that can be applied to every single dish. Our summary was if 4 of us chip in $45 each that's $180 (imagine full price $360)... we can go to seafood market fill our bellies up with much better quality food (steamed fish, all the oysters you can eat, sashimi, other cold/hot food)... Seafood in these kind of buffet is really the only thing that's of value. You can go to a very good Italian restaurants and eat proper Italian food, or Indian, or Chinese or whatever.
Hey Janice, just suggestion: I've tried several places you recommended on youtube, unfortunately, bit disappointed, to me overall just average (even average below) to be honest. I found your way to judge food way too optimistic, everything to you seems like always nice? really? I'd rather go for uncle roger's way..

All food look real fresh, love the oysters
The oysters were pretty good, but being so close to the fish market, it’ll be very disappointing if they weren’t haha
If you want something potato and truffle at home, Woolies in the new Christmas line has roasted baby potatoes in duck fat and truffle butter and for a woolies product they were really good .
Thank you for sharing this. Very informative. I’ll definitely try that buffet.
Wow Janice, you have so many words in describing food. That's impressive to me cause I always struggle to find words.
are there any other buffets in Sydney I should check out? please let me know!
can you do one on sydney's cheapest buffet.
@Jeffrey mar butchers aint cheap.. :(
There’s a good buffet at Club Marconi in Bossley Park!

Yup they are! They were actually doing a lunch buffet promo earlier too

How long do I need to make resection
Hi Janice love and follow your blogs. I Love Oysters but don't like them raw, Do the buffets have an option for cooked Kilpatrick?
This one that I went to didn’t, but the other two I’ve featured, ie epicurean at Crown and the Langham, did have them
Wow! So many different foods,.. and the restaurant itself looks very nice! Were you able to get home before the coma set in? Looking forward to the next one!
Awesome. I don't think they had scallops or crabs the last time I went to Harvest a couple years ago
Was the chilli crab good?
to be honest... it was so long ago I dont even remember anymore lol

My favourite buffet place 🤤🤤😋😋
They used to have Alaskan king crab legs 🦀
No Alaskan crab when I went :(
I didn't hear about this place before 😅 but its looks luxury and foods so delicious 😳😯😋
That place was renovated 6 plus yrs ago. Thank you for doing the review - I will never go there now. The Star Casino is revolting
Thanks Karen...
Can you do their breakfast buffet sometime too please 😃
Haha for sure. I’ll find a few breakfast buffets to film

Did they have Lobster Bisque that night please ?
no, not when I went

How did this buffet compare to the Epicurean at Crown?
