In this video, John demonstrates how to treat through manipulation an elevated first rib. This could be a form of thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS) through the shortness of the scalenes attaching the first rib and irritating the brachial plexus.
Osteopath, lecturer and author John Gibbons offers an accessible introduction to the Vital Cervical Spine Online Masterclass and is a comprehensive, must-have roadmap from firstly understanding all of the related functional anatomy, through to assessing and subsequently treating the region of the cervical spine. The course text is enriched with anatomical drawings throughout, with detailed explanations which accompany the lessons. The literature is complimented by the associated videos which further explain and expand upon topics such as neurological testing using the patella hammer, common neuropathies, pathologies, and differential diagnoses for pain arising to the cervical spine. It is an indispensable resource for physical therapists and bodyworkers.
Alongside real-life case studies and guidelines for hands-on work with clients and patients, The Vital Cervical Spine Online Masterclass demystifies and succinctly presents everything you need to know to be confident and competent in this area; from how to diagnose specific nerve conditions as a result of disc pathology to understanding how to differentiate motion from C1 & C2 (AA Joint) as compared to the rest of the cervical spine.
Gibbons provides critical insights into the structure and function of the unique anatomical region of the cervical spine, as well as the body’s response to referred patterns of pain and the different types of pain as perceived by the patient.
The Vital Cervical Spine Masterclass will enable you to:
- Assess the cervical spine nervous system using a patella (reflex) hammer, myotome (muscle) testing and dermatome (sensory) testing
- Determine whether pain in the shoulder, arm or hand is in fact a referral pattern originating from the cervical spine
- Utilise active and passive range of motion tests to determine if the pathology is a muscular or a joint issue
- Decide at what level a cervical disc may have herniated
- Know what to do with the findings of your neurological assessment and the circumstances under which to refer patients for more specialist care

I have a hemorege and buldge disc, does this treatment helps?
@@MrJediahmed absolutely wont help! It will help the pain caused for a few days until the tension builds up.
Chiropractic is a form of pain relief. Not treatment.
Finally someone that doesnt look like they just do it for the social media clicks.
Thanks for the LOVELY comments, regards JG
yep that’s why he posted it on youtube🤤
Doing it for the fortune rather than the fame you say?
That’s what I’m needing done but my chiropractor passed away and I’ve been through 6 chiropractors since then and no one is getting the job done. It’s like they aren’t even trained to be chiropractors. They all just run me through this same regimen every time never addressing the actual issue. It is so depressing and makes me so angry. I went to my previous chiropractor for 30 years and he always addressed the issue and relieved my pain. Now I’m afraid I may have to suffer the rest of my life if I can’t find someone. I will check to see where this guy is.
Thats a shame - try an osteopath like me somewhere - regards JG
You know you are set on a topic when you can explain it clear enough for others to understand. Excellent
Glad it was helpful! Regards JG

Must be careful with chiropractic manipulation.
After an M.V.A. I had. I was told never to have this done due to the fact through an M.R.I. that my vertebrae and spinal cord were so messed up that I couldn't even have surgery. Doctors were afraid to do further damage or leave me paralyzed. I'm still in constant pain and very unable to do certain movements. Learned the motto of "no pain-no pain"
Your body has an automatic healing process, and with certain stretching, exercise, and massage therapy, it will repair itself with time in most cases, not mine! ;( but you learn to live with it. Always get a second opinion, too ! Good luck! Take care of your body.
I need this man.
Me to, regards JG
Good work Bro. 😊
Thanks ✌️Regards JG

Hello, thank you ! Thanx ! Have a nice day.

Saludos 👍
Ça fait du bien
Few weeks had a chiro does same thing and it hurts like hell for 2 weeks ,couldnt even lift a shopping bag due to muscle pullling ,pain. and now in 3rd week much better but some pain, discomfort still persist
Thanks for the comments but shouldn't hurt if done correctly, regards JG

I have hamoredge and bulged discs, does this treatment helps?
Depends on how the technique is done - just be careful if you let somebody do it to you as can make things worse so in reality it is best avoided just in case, regards JG

In Tamil Nadu we simply do it... like put your joined hands palm in your back neck and some one tightly and some of your friend tightly hug your two hands which is holding your back neck.... just lift you two or three more times with in one socond itself... you may get all the problem relived in the sounds... it's simple process and some one taking this much money for normal natural beauty...ha ha ha ha ha..
Sounds interesting - regards JG
