Went to this game ,it was pissing down .Remember a few hundred Roma fans present, all it seemed had black umbrellas 🌂Gates goal was class, but alas not enough on the night going put 4.3 on agg
This was after Robson left for England, and also muhren went to man. Utd. So d'avray could play, as only 2 non u.k players per team . We still had thyssen.
I think my first ever game was the one following this v Liverpool. If I remember Ipswich had a shocking start to the season and there were all sorts of rumblings about players wanting to leave.
A one sided match with the Blues nicely moving it around, crowd in good voice and pitch lovely and smooth. A decent watch.

Defensive mistakes in the first leg, gave Ipswich a mountain to climb
I was there
Me too...in Churchmans. Got the programme somewhere.
I was there, too, from Rome. Maldera saved the day.
Course you were 👍
Was that a young Antonio Conte limping off in the first half?
Looks very much like it!
It was Bruno Conti. Antonio Conte was 13 when this match took place.
Peter Thomas 🤣 He’s a spitting image though!
Un grandissimo gol di Maldera ci fece respirare...
Grande giocatore con un tiro micidiale!
Io c'ero. Viaggio lunghissimo da Roma.
Non mi ricordo questo risultato!
