Sir while finding y coordinate u take y/2ydx but in finding x coordinate u use only xydx I don't understand here ?

I didn't know about this thing : You can take the same small strip for finding both the coordinates of centroid.
If you have consider horizontal strip while finding X your answer would have been x=a/4.please check it and explain why are there 2 answers
3 years too soon but u have to take distance of cog of your horizontal strip as (a-x/2) then integrate wrt x

Sir, just a suggestion: I guess you should make it clear that why you took only x and not x/2 while find x co-ordinate.It may be confusing for some of the learners.

Anyway that x inside the integral is the distance of the centroid of strip from y axis.....
I am glad that u raised that point....Kudos....
I have extended doubt from that part ...... If centroid of that vertical strip is concerned from x-axis as (y/2)... Why not we considered from y-axis as (x+(dx/2))......
Actually I seen this video for clearing this doubt only

Sir, can't we use horizontal strip in order to find x coordinate of centre of gravity? I tried it myself but I wasn't able to find it.
