This is a great video ! Learning from someone who's a 100 steps ahead of you isn't always a good idea , because as you mentioned they can skip steps and they might've forgotten what got them where they are in the first place , so learning from someone two steps ahead of you is generally far more useful in my opinion .

There's definitely truth in this! It's certainly much easier to teach something you only learnt recently, so it makes sense to learn from someone who just mastered what you're trying to learn!
