For how long God had tried to speak to us gikuyu through our own artist. But the message fall on our deaf ears just because of our greedy and self centered characters. Time to step up hold each others hand and speak with one voice my community. FOR SURE GOD LOVES US
my dad had LPs back in those days, man I have loved Ndichu ever since...waiting for admin to organize a day tour we go and pay homage to Ngina and Mzee for giving us a son who left us good music
These people-Ndichu,Rugwiti(Banana Hill Band),DK,Nduru wa Gathoni(Rift Valley Brothers) were just simply amazing singer-songwritters-The best in our land for ever.
People talk about Kamaru but I believe John Ndichu is the greatest kikuyu artist of all time, closely followed by Makibi James, Kamaru 3rd,De Mathew 4th and Muraya Sammy 5th.
We need to immortalise these greats in some way. I know more about Skeeter Davis than I know about Ndichu simply because there is very little written about him. How will our grand-children learn about these trail-blazers if we let them die uncelebrated?
True. I have searched for his biography, but never found any. I even don't know about when He was born nor his accomplishments. We need to celebrate our late artists, they had great impact on our societies
simply the beauty of original songs keeps going after all the remixes out there...Ndichu Rocks!!!! thanks Maina Chege for sharing these songs for others to get to listen what they were missing all along coz i thought i was the only one enjoying them in silence...Rwengo forever.
I first met John Ndicu in mid eighties at Coro Bar & Restaurant(now mutaratara mall)in mid eighties while I was in high school. It is at Coro, where I met all great kikuyu artists who shaped the careers of many. They were trail blazers. You would meet them also at Kagondo bar, river road.
He was mainly in the company of Wamumbe, his younger brother and his character was remarkable, committed to his career and not very outgoing. Next to Coro bar and Restaurant was Newton Njoroges SabaSaba music store.
My wife n I are enjoying this song, as we pray and work hard n smart. May our children make it in life. One question though, what does he say on this part, "haitu Hagie iria kana no *****"?
@@Qwert4qwert3 Agree but i dont think the guy can compse he is just a one man guitar thats it for him, listen to mike ruas songs terrible.. but when he sings other ppls sounds so good

The message Ndichu and makibi were the best. Kiarutara got message too
Ndichu sure was actually talented. He would freestyle without writing his lyrics sometimes, but Kamaru had grit and dogged determination.
