I'm old enough to remember in the very early 1960s when, after the Second Catholic Ecumenical Council "threw open the doors to let some fresh air in" (paraphrased), that almost every Catholic church building was ripped of its statues, altars, and other furnishings and "modernized" into ugliness and architectural conflict, i.e., interior styles not matching the building's architecture. Now a couple generations later the damage was recognized and repaired or returned to its former grandeur and beauty. IMO, this destruction should have never been allowed and personally happy to see this done to a few churches with the artistic talents of people as this couple.
