It should be noted that the advantage of the Shunt over other ascenders is that i can run twin lines at once instead of a single line so if your rope is looped over something (which you've rappelled down) you can use the shunt but not other devices. The downside to the shunt is that it does not slide up rope very smoothly. Best to have the bottom of your rope weighted down a little bit.
