What counts as a game in wot? I don't see a distinct line between games of wot and _not_ games of wot. Does team training count? Do old versions count? Do _very_ old versions also count? Do the testing stages of the game count? Because while the developers were testing some stuff, this has probably happened already. Before the game was even released.

As a player that loves accurate long range TDs, I really miss these kind of maps. Nowadays, when you play a TD you are either forced to sit in a very obvious camping position, down one of three corridors, or play like a assault gun and get up close and personal, where your armour is mediocre to weak (while on long range your armour would hold up a bit better), your weakpoints are obvious and easy to hit and the advantages in gun performance is mitigated by the close proximity of the combat. I wouldn't mind having some more open maps, with less corridor play and maybe even larger maps, because this is World of tanks for crying out loud, not League of Legends. Mediums don't have the open areas to outflank, TDs can't use their superior gun handling and accuracy to pick apart tanks from long range and lights can't spot for the team because everybody has the same view range as them. Truly, this game would benefit from larger, open maps where there is room to manuevre, have tanks do outflanking attacks, a couple of anchorpoints for the brawling tanks and keep tanks back to provide fire support over long ranges.

so i compared my Type 59 to my STA-2 today. and found out. that the STA-2 is better in every regard, but camo index and armor. ... the STA-2 has better accuracy, reload, speeds, view range, signal range. ect.
The type 59 doesnt have what it takes to be a sniper. it doesnt have the mobility to be a quick/aggressive medium. its gun has less pen, so its not a sniper ontop of it all.

if you put an upgraded gun rammer, an upgraded improved vents, chocolate, brothers n arms. i guarantee. that the E25 will have a reload near or under 1 second
Keller weskier and what ? I played the game before make it to at 7 and I stopped because a couldn’t make money to even buy ammo for my at 7 . Now I realized that you need to play much more in the lower tiers to earn some money and grind to tier 8 9 or even 10 . With premium I have panther at7 and strv s1 today and the game is really funny with this new engine . Sure wg can’t make changes correctly but they are acceptable . Maybe a slightly nerf to some Russian tanks including tier 10 maybe kv 1 some mediums is7 is 4 and the new tier 10 s and the game will be even better . I still can’t wait to research the badger or e50m to see what it is to play with tier 10 . The grind to tier 10 is masochistically slow and that’s the biggest problem with the game especially when you play a line like the at line . Yes the tortoise and the badger are monster tds but I think players grinding this line totally deserves it .
@teletubbykiller54 Thats what happens when paying players whine. They spend $50 for a tier 7 premium and watch it get peppered by a T-67 that got behind them. Can't have free tanks killing your money tank !!! Also, comparing stats from many of the premiums offered today, I can find something comparable in the tech tree for nothing. (Cromwell vs. Cromwell "B" comes to mind )
My earliest memory was of the T29 having hit-able "ears"
i think the reason they were made no hit-box zones was due to them not actually being a proper, damageable part of the tank. if you look at the actual tank on wikipedia you'll see they are just welded on and not actually part of the turrets structure so it makes sense that they would be a no hit-box zone.
yeah i had a hiatus for a while and came back and was like "why am i doing no damage".
or moving to the side or rear is suicide since there's more than a t29 running around.

Gosh, you are talking such stupid bullshit. Try to flank a T29 in the narrow alley on Himmelsdorf while his team is securing hill and the railway. Not to mention, that you have not mentioned the option when you are forced to face him or can snipe. 1. Hit his
commander hatch, 2. Clubber him to death with your HE rounds If you have a nice derp gun like the kv2 or the Japanese heavies. P. S. The T29 is still absurdly OP it has a great gun and a fantastic turretarmor which can be abused to extremes on the new corridor maps.

The view range on that bathtub was way overpowered for it's tier too, like that tier 3 pak 40 premium. Almost every time that I got that old low tier map (Monistary?) where you looked across a valley, I could get a scout medal or patrol duty medal in the slowest td or tank on the board. You could slow scout in a bathtub too on some maps with skills, binos, and camo, and shoot devastating shots from behind bushes. Who needs armor when the rest of the tanks can't even see that far? Be careful though, before you could tip tanks over, you could quite easily tip these kinds of TDs to an odd half over, balanced on one track, kind of stuck -- I missed out on a Radley Walter/Kolobonov game once when the last enemy left, found me helplessly stuck balanced on one track, how embarrassing. They were top heavy and you could get like this just traversing across not that steep of a slope.

Tru, I just got Blitz on my pc(windows) so I could get the t82- they still have it! It's troll, especially with blitz mm.
As a veteran all I can say is that Wargaming killed the Td's real purpose with the new maps giving them almost no opportunities compared to the past to show their real nature. Today's world of tanks is like the wot in those times...the only difference is previously Td's dominated the field, now meds and lights play the same role...different playstile, but the same result overall.

I feel TD's such as the jackson and SU-122-44 have way less of a place in WoT now, there just isn't those large open maps, I quite enjoyed havein those long distance battles where skill was key not dpm (thats pretty subjective to be fair) just my opinion

You should do review on the map histories. Perhaps 1 map at a time. It would be really interesting.
I hate the new map meta to be honest. I understand that the old maps were all about camping, and I agree that WG has done a good job renovating maps. There are few maps nowadays that allow for good LT drivers to scout, which was one of the things that made the old maps so much fun (t50-2 anyone?). I hate a lot of the new city maps like Stalingrad and Paris, because it is very hard to be effective unless you are a heavy tank. Meds and Heavies need to have a universal view range nerf to maybe 400 meters, and leave lights at 425 or so, just to make lights more effective. Opinions?
I was thinking buff the lights cap to 465 and rest to 435 and add more non city maps. Maybe even Light tank free maps and other heavy tank free maps.
I'd say cut it all the way down to somewhere around 375 max for heavies and mediums.

I remember getting at least 4 bombardiers with my T92 in that corner...not to mention, the AP round always found a target there hahahaha.
Trying to do this now would be almost impossible as RNG would prevent it from happening. Had numerous shots lately that were impossible to miss actually miss, even had one shot/shell change direction mid air which caused it to miss big time resulting in me dieing and team losing.
I've had 80% of the tank I'm targeting inside my aim circle and it'll still hit the dirt or fly over the back side.
now El Haluf is the one map that makes me want to die when I play a TD

Matt Green I rarely play WOT these days,but when I need a pick-me-up I bring my S35 CA out w/ the 105mm and spam APCR.Cuts through anything at Tier VII.IS-2? No problem.Tigers? Even easier.

World of tanks used to be much better before Wargaming essentially made light tanks useless and Tank Destroyers situational. Now most matches are a city based slug fest or corridor shooter with little to no variety. Every tank has massive view range so Camouflage is rarely useful, artillery is an RNG nightmare for you *and* the enemy team. As an average 1600 Win8 player, I can't stand the luck aspect in every facet of this game.
The game is completely dumbed down for the huge masses of dumb players. Dumb players pay well...

To be honest, (and correct), WoT very much was as a game far better and more fun back when I started during 8.2 and 8.3 , mechanically at the least especially.
Skills and Gear really seemed to actually matter, as did Player Skill, with better performing tanks, instead of the RNG-determinist Communism fake/forced "equal or else" bullshit the game has devolved into since, patch by patch, to cater to the slobbering windowlickers who make up ~60% of the non-gamer general population rather than staying consistently true to the actual/legit AUDIENCE of the game for whom it mattered.
(and lolz surprise surprise how that loss of said population from the game went for it eh?)

So yeah, some good or less good parts of things back then, and a few tries for a few fixes a few bits too late for some of the many mistakes to the game since, but have to see.
With like 50% of our earnings potentials locked behind a fully fake Pay Wall along with NOT fixing SPGs but instead only fueling the cancer of why players hate them as a unit by not being Skill-Determined units, when even as broken as they are in the game they could do so much by simply locking them to 2 max per side in games and only as bottom tier.
But no.
So yeah, 8:00 speech? Yes, WoT as a game was much better and more fun to _Play_ back in its prime of patches 8.2 and 8.3 before the slide from quality in 8.4 onwards.
Sure about 8.8 or so it had picked back up some, but nope......

I loved it. Got my only kolobanovs on it. In my Hellcat. Cementing my affection with the Hellcat. I dislike WG removing or remodeling maps so much you can't really use TD's on long ranges anymore. Corridors, cities. It's almost all that's in the game nowaways. A very few exceptions. Maps maybe more balanced now, but they have become way worse for lightly armored snipers and scouts. And that saddens me.
hellcat wasn't op... before the nerfs it was probably the most balanced tank in the game lol? it's no "t49" (t67)
They changed it from "everybody camps in their base" to "everybody gathers in one corner of the map to peek-a-boo trade shots". Went from one boring extreeme to another.
zorkan111 you should not forget that humans are bassicaly sheep... meaning that if enough people go one side the rest will follow.. you can ac't like thi i an problem of san river but i'm not so sure it is... in general most maps are very "1 sided" in the sense that the main battle 9 out of 10 times tend to happen in the same place.... this ofcourse could just be how i feel about it ...
also i'd rather have the peek a boo then "kemp bush" aproach for days. allthough there's not enough bush these days with the city map hype

I find it remarkable that he did not get hit a single time in the entire battle. The other observation is that the last Marder got p!ssed off about having his health destroyed that he quite the game beforehand. He woud have otherwise been able to get the bathtub while he was going after the 2nd Marder...

50-99 ping is what I play with on the NA east and I live on the east coast. I don't see how that is bad. I consider above 150 bad. Or do you mean 500 to 999?

Yea I prefer it, slower but more enjoyable allowing for flanking maneuvers TD's to shoot the flankers and heavies ti brawl it out.
This just angers me to watch. I am so heartily sick of WG making life hard for everything except meds and their precious heavies. Look at this map then and look at it now. What buffs have TDs received to compensate for the changed maps? None. They've had nerfs instead. Less penetration, shorter view range, less xp - all to help the heavies and meds again. As mentioned in the video, there are now also more city maps than ever! Unfair guys, unfair! But if you think that TDs have had it bad then just look at poor arty! No view range, far less hp, greatly increased aim times, greatly decreased accuracy, greatly reduced aiming corridors, lower shell flight paths, much slower shell travel speeds, poor matchmaking etc. Light tanks also don't get much out of WG, but at least they've avoided horrible nerfs. It is so frustrating that WG always listens to the whining of their millennial noob player base who want instant gratification. They play regular tanks to avoid having to develop arty, TD and light skills. When killed by those vehicles they whine until WG nerfs them. WG have made arty completely unplayable and severely hamstrung TDs to please these selfish, unskilled morons. Shame on you WG, shame on you!
Actually, TD and arty players tend to be the worst players skill wise.

Thats why I sold my account , uninstalled the game and never looked back. I still watch Quickybaby and his talent for game calling though so thats why I am here. Other than that WG can go fuck itself

tank is good. after fully grinding the German line i went to the French. i got mastery badge 2 games in a row with this tank.

Dark Star That's why I disagree with win rate quite a lot. When I look for a player's skill I look at average dmg, average accuracy, WN8. If a player has low WR but high WN8 it just means he camps a lot. I doesn't mean that he doesn't do anything it's just camping doesn't win game as much.
I think the map is more fair now! But in the KV-1S tier 6 back then I liked the old version back!
When the maps were highly detailed
Still miss tank companies being open run, and the old trio of tier 6's for them: the Kv-3 was tier 6 god heavy, the 3601 H was the med. and the Jackson (Slugger) was the TD of choice. Only tier 4 arty was allowed because arty only went to 8 back then. And mostly was only the Grille but some of us made a name for the su-5.

I dont like how they have changed the maps. Its harder to play scout tanks and play TDs that dont have a turret. It seems likeall wargaming cares about are the unicorns in this game, they dont seem to think about te average player when they change the maps. Yes they do need more maps in rotation, maybe they could bring back some of the older maps.

I remeber playing T-54 when physics were not added and i was able to kill every tank with T-54, and yeah IS-4 was total beast even stronger than IS-7 but it is just nostalgia i feel like game is much better now

I love this little tank. It was an absolute beast when it had 400 meters of view range back then as well, before the TD vision nerf.

Wow I'm so impressed, I've actually just got this tank because of this video. The most I've ever killed is 9 with my Tier II Cruiser Mk. III, but the final enemy shot me dead in the last seconds after everyone else was gone...
been lucky enough to kill 13,, pound for pound one of the best snipers in the game if you know how to use it
I remember this map (the old version) as you mentioned, because there I did the my first highest DMG in the game with the T10(5614DMG), and was at the beginning of my tanker story :) ,really nice thank for the memories QuickyBaby :)
I do remember the old el halluf and when I played my FV304 I could shoot over the rock where the heavies
I remember some battles on those corners they were epic. Once enough tanks were killed u had no way to get around. Used to sit in my Td and easily rack up 5k to 6k games. Maps now with the exception of some of the old maps are mostly boring and lack cover. Wargaming do need to introduce more maps in 9.8 to freshen things up.

S35 CA is my favorite tier 5 TD. But with every patch they make it worse! Slower, worse gun handling and more. Every patch is destroying this TD. Just like Marder! it was awsome and then they make it shit.

I love this tank! Cause it is like an SU-85 back then with the 107mm, just a bit worse.
Although, I still bounce even Sturer Emil 12,8cm and other gigantic guns with the nice angles on the front/side. Makes you feel like a real overpowered russian tank! Without being neither russian nor too much OP!
the bathtub has more traverse to the right than to the left is because the mantlet is asymmetrically place to the right so when traverse to the right, the breach will have more free space (gun to right=breach to left) and vice versa, the gun traverse limit on this tank is actually the limit of the breach tao travel before hitting the side plates :) thank me later mister Quickybaby

Ahh, the days when the T29 reined even more supreme, and T32s were gods of the battlefield (not that they aren't good now mind you)...And arty was terrifying....

The old El Halluf was an FV304's Paradise. You could just shoot over the walls of the Northern Mountain. KV-2's also had a nice thing going for them on the hill. Nobody would push up, and if they did it was usually 1 at a time so you could rack up damage without taking any.
