Man, the ship passengers death scenes horrified the hell outta me when I saw it the first time. Bloody well done scenes and so horrific. Being a huge horror fan (in every possible way horror can be created from comedic to gore to Sci-fi to psychological etc), that scene ranks in my top 5 EASILY.
While I was reading the script I had a crazy flashback to the scene where the guy follows the singer. From SO long ago lol

I remember the opening scene when the wire cuts the passengers, I saw it a long time ago, and being a kid it scared the shit out of me. A few days ago it came to my mind out of nowhere and searched for it and its a great coincidence that *Mystery Recapped* tells the whole story just days after I searched about it and was too lazy to watch the entire film.

Mythbusters tested the wire trap and busted it. The wire wouldn't have cut through and killed everyone like that. Only the people up front would be injured and the rest would pretty much get knocked over by the other people.

Ghost Ship is such an underrated film. The ending REALLY set up for a second film, but it never came 😔

The way the passengers died scared the crap out of me as a teen.
I’ve seen that scene by accident and it never left my mind, I was 10 then. I have never tried to find out what movie it was. That’s 3min scene I saw was enough to scare me off.
Till this day I don’t like standing on deck.
Still I haven’t seen the movie yet and I don’t think I’ll ever will.
So thank you for recapping it telling me the full story. You made it easier for me to deal with my trauma. For me it easier like this.

This was one of the greatest horror movies i've watched
Its only the old ones that actually are scary, but the new ones have interesting monsters,characters
Storyline and back story are also good on latest movies however they are really not that scary and most of the time they are predictable

@@Khabirov88 Yes i do agree, it actually had an actual good story, and the monster was not entirely made up, it actually i think was from a legend or myth in some kind village irl so that was nice. Yeah over all i mean not ALL modern movies sucked, but like other people said, it was really actually now expected now a days what characters and monsters would do. I especially like horror films like saw, since it has these actual interesting traps and such and even the new movies arent bad themselves.

The first horror film I've ever scene at like 8 years old was this one in like 2003. The terror from this movie was traumatic and iconic at the same time for me lmao I was hooked yet not allowed to watch 98% of horror films. My mom let this one slip thru for some reason and it was wild to me , I recall thinking how this was a proper horror movie and how amazing that was and how horrrified I was haha!
Same for me!! But I was much younger I remember this movie only because of the singer and Katie's death tho which is kinda weird but makes sense since I was only a child and only remembers the traumatic parts. But yes it is an amazing movie!

I had the same experience with this movie. I watched it not long after it came out. I was 8 in 2002 so I’m assuming I was either 8 or 9 when I watched it. It was the first actual scary movie I had watched & I did not watch it again until just last year because it had a traumatic effect on me at that young age. Watching it last year was still kind of scary for me which is weird because I grew up to an adult with a love of scary movies. Ghost Ship was different for me though.

after everything i read about the titanic, i believe the captain and the company sunk it on purpose. I don't wanna give you an uncalled ramble so if you're curious about the info, ill write a detailed comment. I'm like 99% sure it was ON PURPOSE, premeditated, planned but its circumstantial evidence.
I totally remember the slicing scene when I was little, don't even know how I accidentally saw it, but it definitely traumatized me for awhile, I didn't even know what the movie was either...so it's weird that finally it has come back in my recommended...
Funny how a massacre scene like that can scar our minds. It kinda scarred me as well. That was the last thing I wanna see in a movie. First the waterslide one and now this.

Munder and Dodge eating maggots is eaily one of the most unforgettable movie scene during my childhood. It's also amazing to see Karl Urban vefore he became famous.

call me crazy, but the scenes with the souls from 1965 were cool af considering they are technically ghost yet still in perfect condition. Also gives off lots of vintage vibes whenever it flashbacks to them in 1965.

This movie is actually so good. I watched this because of Emily Browning before. Even though it's horror movie they also make it little bit of funny and sad. Especially in the flashback when the crew start killing each other.

Man Of Medan wasn't based off of this, it was inspired by the well known urban legend of the ghost ship SS Ourang Medan.
I love this movie, as a child I loved this movie, this is how I got obsessed with ships and history.

In sheer disgust, both the State court and God himself with the Jury announced the death penalty on him but never allowed into both afterlives. Now Jack is a sadistic ghost who only makes bad profits for himself.
