Great vid guys, we prefer off grid especially after Covid sent the prices up, you have plenty of room for solar but if you’re camping all year round decent folding solar works wonders as you can angle it towards the sun to make a huge difference, by the way if you turn off the selfie flip in the settings of the pocket 3 it won’t go back to front 👍 happy travels😎
Definitely fit a diesel heater for off grid otherwise you’ll use a lot of gas and change the batteries to lithium otherwise a lead acid or agm battery you’ll have half the battery you can use whereas the lithium you can use most of the battery, you may have to change the b2b aswell
Whitby is wonderful. I’ve lost count of how many times we’ve been. Fish n chips at Trenchers. Wrap up warm because it can get very cold at the seafront. I wish we were going again soon. Will you off grid? We wanted to go this month but most sites shut for the winter. There is one open at the top, past the Abbey but it’s quite a walk into town and you’ll have the 199 steps to climb on the way back.
Yes it’s been quite some time since we last had a trip to Whitby, we will most probably go off grid. A friend of ours has recommended to go to the light switch on at the end of the month so we may go then, thanks for watching!
You guys say you weren’t plugged in so you can not decide on 1 or 2 kw as you had no electric it won’t work.. you only got gas on or off nothing else. Gas is far better on the Alde system but it can use a lot so best to be on refillable.
I've been really looking forward to your adventures, followed your journey from the first video, and been excited to see you get your van and hit the road. I know you are new to this but I just feel so much more could have been included, like telling us about the land rovers, the vehicles the offloading, your interest. I genuinely picked nothing up from just watching a vlog with music over where you could have been telling us so much. I know this sounds terribly critical but it's not it's just genuinely would have been interested to learn more about off roading and your hobby. I this this could be your neich ...
@campingrallies I am sorry if it sounds like a negative comment. It's so hard to get feeling over in text I genuinely think you seem like a really nice couple and I've been excited for you getting the house and the van and achieving your goals. The land-rover thing looks so cool and interesting I think this side of your life makes you stand out from other van lifers like you have a genuine interest in something and it's great you share it as a couple. I am looking forward to seeing your adventures. By the way .. Witby is amazing so many cool places like Robins Hood baby and the Abbey you might struggle on some of the road with your van being so big lol .. Scarborough isn't far and they have a beautiful memoal day on the beach at the life boar center. We went last year. .. Flanburgh if I've spelt it right is also really nice there is a light house and a lovely cafe loads of parking and you can see the seals (if your lucky lol) we wasn't so wr chip butties with gravy in the cafe...
Does the heating not work on gas as well as electric? I always thought you had the option between the 2? We have just purchased our first MH, so all this is going to be a learning curve for us also 😆 Enjoy the travels!

Yes absolutely we have been sent a few to do a review on and may well be worth fitting one.

Hi yes it works on both but we just didn’t realise we could lower the kw, we are trying to figure out the best settings too! It’s all fun and games
It certainly is! Part of the adventure!
Your Alde heating only runs on gas off grid not leisure battery it was your tv that drained your battery
Oh interesting we did not have the alde heating our caravan so still learning how to use it properly
