Raising Our Beef & Dairy Calves

Our goal @LakinGroup is to raise robust, healthy calves.
We take pride in raising calves and measure success by each calf’s ability to comfortably transition during weaning.
Here’s how we do it:
• Milk is our calves primary nutrition source. We make sure every calf has the opportunity to drink milk. And hand feed calves until they can drink on their own, while sanitizing bottles and during the entire process.
• Water and grain is fed ad-lib from day one. Fresh water is given everyday into clean buckets, and grain is exchanged often.
• During the winter we bed with straw, use calf jackets, and give extra feedings of milk to meet caloric energy needs.
• During the summer we bed with sand for fly control and comfort. And, prop up the hutches to increase airflow and improve ventilation.

Such beautiful cows it really a damn same they are raised for the meat industry a cow can leave up to 50 years stop the slaughter
