This is the theme music on the video documentry of the Lion of Judah Emperor Haile Selassie 1st historic visit to Jamaica in April 1966. In the welcoming speech, the acting prime minister said, the Emperor visit was the highest point in the history of our nation.
This is BLUE BEAT, it only became Ska much later. Blue Beat, then Reggae then Ska. I used to be dancing all night in 61 62 in the Roaring 20's the Limbo club in Wardour mews, or the Candy lounge in Gerrard street. !!
Tal cual. Blue beat fue el label... O será que provenga de "rythm n BLUES", then they took only "BLUE" then put "beat",... cuz is supposed that ska comes from a mix jazz music , r n blues music, mento, calypso boggie-woogie piano style... 🤔🤔🤔
Greetings AmbertJeblue. Sorry to say that Ska precede Reggae, so correctly it is Blue Beat, Ska then Reggae. If I AM wrong then I humbly acquiesce, however I AM positive that I am correct.
El nombre correcto es SKA... ya después comenzó a nombrársele "blue beat". Se supone que el "blue beat" es un sello, una disquera, o algo de eso. Por eso el vinilo de la imagen dice "blue beat" en grande...es la "marca".
The 60s was my time for dancing to Bluebeat, I’m 80 now, and still enjoy listening to the Bluebeat stars of times past…… Thank You.
We thank you ❤️
Wicked tune. Picked this up in the 80s from an old sound man in Kilburn. Mint copy and he only charged me a fiver.
RIP Prince Busta , your music will live forever.

Wow. I've never heard such a dark monster of a ska such as this. Excellent
This is none other than the SKA-TALITES. And trumpeter Johnny "Dizzy" Moore (a devout Rastafarian until his death) sounds VERY inspired.

ambertjeblue :I always thought Ska is before to Reggae("Do the reggae" Toots and the Maytals, 1968)
I went to the roaring twenties club in 61 and 62 as well. Incredible club I was 17it was adventure is there any left.
bluebeat is a record label.
It’s ska, it was called Bluebeat in the U.K. because a lot of it was on the Bluebeat label.
Tal cual. Blue beat fue el label...
