  • Another busy week in the studio! I did a photo shoot for a side project (more on that coming soon), made the cutest toast/bread plates with deladesigngift.com and my The Ceramic Shop mini haul.
I really hate packing and shipping stuff but I did get the 4 Soldier plates for the Journey's Onward exhibition shipped out. That show will be July 1-26, 2024 in the Rockwell Gallery at the Salamgundi in NYC. Check out their website for more info here: salmagundi.org...
Rehearsals for Jersey Boys continues across the street and the show opens at the Weston Play House this summer. I'll be going to see the show in July and will share how it is when it happens.
I shared some of the behind the scenes from my day long photo shoot. It was hard, very, very hard (cue it's Hard to be the Bard from Something Rotten) but I did get some images that I could use. I also share some advice for taking photos of yourself for promoting your work.
I'd love to hear what you think about the Vlog. I am really enjoying sharing studio life with you and if you have any questions be sure to ask them in the comments below! See you next week.

Hi Jess! Get yourself a big backdrop. It will be perfekt behind the kilns or with only you and a pot. Think that's best because nothing will steel the show from the important stuff. It's you and the pot. And please , you don't need a "silly" (sorry!) smile. Just be yourself, as.we all know you. Good luck !
    Greeting from Europe!

    I love watching your vlogs.
You are always so happy go lucky and enjoying yourself.
I love how you are just being you.
Thrown in with (ha ha pun) your witty comments and excitement over products.
And you are very photogenic indeed. Your posing in the vlog was so fun. A photo taken at that time, just being you would have worked. BTW red suits you.
    Happy potting in the studio

I didn’t know you can use raku glaze in an electric kiln! Looking forward to that class. 😊

It’s a game changer for those who want to do Raku firing but only have an electric kiln! We will be doing microwave Raku this coming week then Raku in an electric kiln the last week of June or first week of July. I’ll post when it will happen as we get closer. ☺️

I have done many rakufirings in one of my electric kilns. Just a bit tricky to take it hot from the kiln. It takes 2 people. One pic the pot and the other open the lid. I have top loaded kilns. Much easier with front loaded. 😅
