I’m the mom of the 11 year old. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for taking time to answer that question. I needed that answer probably more than he did. We listened to it as a family and had a wonderful discussion about the miracles we’ve seen and a beautiful prayer for the miracles to come.
    God bless you all 🙏🏻

Thank you John and Alan for answering questions and I can’t wait to watch part 2. I want to share that in early 2018, I had an email devotion that was about The Lord of the Rings and it was promoting a book P.U.S.H (Pray Until Something Happens). I was compelled to buy the kindle version and I read a little bit and stopped for some reason. Within a few weeks my mom would go through the battle for her life and you guessed it - I began to read this in her hospital room. She had sepsic, pneumonia and several other things. I prayed specifically for her heart rate to get stable and sat next to her in ICU and prayed off and on that night. Her rate would go down and a little later would go up - it was a battle from 150 to back in the 80’s the next morning. 24 hours later she was sitting up asking the doctor if he would bring her breakfast. He stood there in awe and told me all of the things she came in with …I just said I’ve had a lot of people praying for her. So miracles do still happen in our country if you simply believe. I also have experienced the dark night of the soul and there are no words for feeling lost from our beloved God. I just had to remember he hasn’t left me and it was a long time for the healing of that to occur. Thank Jesus! I appreciate y’all so much and I will pray for the blood of Jesus, the river of life and breath of life to heal me completely from that.

Miracles weren’t a thing in the West LONG before the Enlightenment.

    Another great podcast.
First time commenting. Bill Johnson pointed out that the correct translation is "unbelief" (like in the NASB, NLT, NKJ , and TPT) not "lack of faith" (NIV, of course). He made the point that "unbelief" is a specific thing that will interfere, even if you have faith in Jesus. Kind of like fully accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior, but not believing he still speaks to you. You are saved, but you don't hear his voice.
Another point, people get hung up on the funkiest things, like you have to pray to the Father and not to Jesus, except on Tuesdays. And when it's dark on Wednesday. Fizzbin praying ;o). "God has exalted Jesus to the highest place, and given him the name that is above every name." I infer from this that the Father has made the name of Jesus higher than his own name. Hopefully, someone won't think that means we can only pray to Jesus and not to the Father. Except on Tuesdays.

You're probably better off listening to a scholar rather than BJ. Just a thought. 🙂

I write this with a heavy heart and disappointment. At 42:33, John says that a believer in Jesus Christ can call on angels for help. If that's the case, why do we never see a believer do that in any of the gospels or Acts?
I also find it interesting that he quotes Hebrews 1 in an attempt to justify this teaching, but ignores Hebrews 13:6, which says, "The Lord is my helper". It doesn't say an angel is - but that the Lord is the helper. Did the apostles and prophets do things in the name of an angel, or in the name of Jesus? Were miracles done by the Spirit, or by angels? Obviously, some of these questions are rhetorical but if you have ears to hear, then you will. And if you have eyes to see, you will.
This idea of calling on angels or saying you have a command over angels continues to creep into the church, but I don't see it as John does. A proper context of understanding the verse John referenced, in Hebrews 1, is to say that angels can and do/have help believers. An angel freed Paul in Acts 12. But it wasn't because Paul called on an angel or commanded one. Trust God. Call on him and him alone for help.
Believers, God alone commands angels (Psalms 91:11-12, Joshua 5:14). Be careful with your hearts and beware of this teaching that you somehow do. You don't.
Sorry, WaH, you lost a listener, subscriber, promoter, and reader tonight. However, if John intends to humble himself and turn away from this teaching, I would look forward to a response from the WaH team. Even Peter had to be rebuked by Paul, at one point. Sometimes people fall into bad teachings and bad actions. Whether or not they course correct says a lot about them. I hope John clarifies this on a future podcast.

John distinguishes the act of "calling on" or "asking angels for help" from the act of praying to angels. Psalm 91:10-12 reflects the intent of what he's saying. We appreciate the feedback and will pass along the request to clarify this in a future podcast.

@@WildatHeartOfficial Thanks for taking the time to respond. I appreciate it. I also distinguish between asking angels for help and praying to angels. And, I wasn't accusing John of saying it's ok to pray to angels. My point is, that neither is appropriate. Neither one. We who call Christ, Lord, should neither ask angels for help nor think we can command them to help us. We should call out to God, and God, according to his will, will help us in our time of need.
