Formerly Voden, Macedonia. All my ancestors from both sides are from there. My Maternal Dedo was from a village to the north. Gomenutse? Surely spelled wrong. My family took a trip from the US in 1973. We landed in Athens and drove to Thessaloniki where we stayed a day or two. The home town of my paternal Dedo. From there we drove on to Edessa. We stayed there for nearly 4 weeks! I played (tried anyway!LOL) soccer on the same rock hard dusty pitch that my dad did before the war. My mother was a Christoff and her mother was a (spelled wrong for sure!) Vavoudi.
