I am absolutely devastated. The import audio is literally the most useful feature on the app for me 😭 you know we’re finished when the people behind the best free animation app turn into cheapskates.
In ibispaint, if you press the + button (create a new artwork) and scroll down, they actually have an animate feature :D Everything works like normal. The premium brushes need ads, you can add as many layers and detail as you like, etc. the only problem is canvas size (640x640 or 640x480). Premium is required for a bigger canvas. Bur you can always draw the frames separately as artworks instead of animation and stitch them together in a video editing software lol
@@Yolk-u5n have you used it before saying that? nearly all of ibispaint’s options are for free. Premium brushes can be unlocked for 8 hours with an ad, the premium filters are basically useless compared to the free ones, and it’s one of the best free softwares out there. The only thing you have to pay for in animation is a bigger canvas.
I enjoyed using FlipaClip for a while. But now it pisses me off that I’m forced to buy a subscription to import videos which used to be free, just needed to watch an ad. The thing that pisses me off is that I used the videos for reference and inspiration. Now that they cost money, I can’t import them anymore, which MEANS I can’t use references anymore, which MEANS I can’t animate anymore.
Use a random drawing app that is not too greedy, animate each frame. You have to take a Photo of each frame and Then use some animation software to stich em’ up
Alight Motion - All Devices except Laptop and PC ToonSquid - iPad, everything is free except the app costing money, but it actually still good honestly, i use it Adobe Animate - Only for Laptop and PC, hard to use and Jacknjellify uses it

Im so sad for beginner animators because thwyre never going to have the same experience with flipaclip i did when i began animating, and thats just really sad to me.

I made a project on flipaclip like a year prior to this, it was empty; only one frame and not a single drawing. Instead i had watched an ad to get the maximum ten layers and since then i have been copy and pasting the project whenever i felt the need to use more than three layers so i didn’t have to get plus. If Flipaclip didn’t lock the ad stuff behind plus yet I suggest trying it out, there might still be time. *Edit:* If you didn’t update flipaclip before this update you wont have to get plus to use the ad feature
Bad choice of them considering ibis paint recently added animation with much more free features (if you want free brushes you should connect to empty wifi data and it'll give you the brushes without having to watch an ad) so basically flipaclip is in a competition with them and they're already losing
Fr tho, back when FlipaClip only had 4 brushes, you could purchase some features only 1 time and that was it, kinda missing those days, especially since I’ve used the app for 4 years now and it was good enough as it was in 2020/21 :/

I had planned that i would use flipaclip for when i would start animating, but thanks to the news brought by you, i think animating on IbisPaint will be better, its pretty easy to animate for me, but adding audio and stuff is something i havent figured out if they have it
I only use the default brush in flipaclip. And I’m ok with only 3 layers. Also, Ik a very OP move for mappers. That OP move is copying a frame from one animation and pasting it onto another animation.
Personally, I like using rigs for animation when I do it which requires a separate layer for each part of the bodies, impossible to do on flipaclip now.

FlipaClip is also terrible for inbetweening because it only lets you see the last frame you drew. So when drawing breakdowns and key frames I have to constantly switch between frames to make sure I’m drawing my character in the right place
I usually use only flipaclip because TWEEING IS TOO HARD FOR ME!! but I’ve been in the new norm for a while already, it’s not much of a problem for me aside from the fact that it’s hard to lip sync since I animate on a phone and it needs “audio files”. It’s sad to see apps get more and more annoying with the economy field :/

(Probably because a company bought it, which is the situation for other companies) Edit: there are some alternative basically, some are available in pc or laptop, some are available to mobile, or both like Alight motion (You basically have to insert pictures in order to animate) is only available in mobile, Adobe animate is only available on computer (maybe), it's pretty hard to use it for beginners but it can be easy with practice and knowing on how to use it. There are more aimating apps, so try it aside from FlipaClip.

I recently deleted flipaclip and installed flipaclip again and this exact same thing pops up when I wanted to watch a ad for another layer, but after one day it shows that I can play a ad for another layer for some reason, idk u might need to wait

Same with Vyond, I used to be able to make a 200 scene 30 minute video with a 2 week free trial, now they don't allow temporary enails for free trials, which means you have to wait 90 days for your old free trial account to be deleted. I waited the 90 days and after that I made a new free trial account, but now I can't even make more than 32 scenes like I used to. Conpanies nowadays are getting too greedy. Last time I used Vyond was 3 months ago and this paywall of the amount of scenes I made was not there.
I'm glad to FINALLY see someone talk about this. I'm sure you're not the only person to comment on this, but you'vebeen the forst video I've seen, but it upsets me to see them turn to this tbh... especially since there's so much stuff I still want to try to animate on the app!
@FL0R4_AFT0N from what i remember, i think you're able to use Uptodown or APKPure to find older versions, if you're not a fan of the newest bs updates that leave tools behind a paywall, simply install an older version and see if there's anything you like in it
I would use ibis paint X. Cause u watch an add for the + brushes like flipaclip from before. And you can make an animation by scrolling down after you press the + button. (Animation)

It's probably true they only invite animators to do animations for their videos They have no idea how many tools are actually needed to make an ACTUALLY DECENT animation. Imagine a game dev creating an entire game and knowing _nothing_ about the controls *OF THEIR OWN CREATION.* That's exactly how flipaclip's situation looks like. Also it annoys me that the people behind the app treat all their users like little kids. In their ""tutorials"" there is way more effort put into grabbing some 6 yo attention with popular characters than actually explaining how specific tools work. That's why when i'm confused about tools I would rather watch tutorials made by normal flipaclip users than the hellhole that is flipaclip's official channel

Same with Vyond, I used to be able to make a 200 scene 30 minute video with a 2 week free trial, now they don't allow temporary enails for free trials, which means you have to wait 90 days for your old free trial account to be deleted. I waited the 90 days and after that I made a new free trial account, but now I can't even make more than 32 scenes like I used to. Conpanies nowadays are getting too greedy.
Last time I used Vyond was 3 months ago and this paywall of the amount of scenes I made was not there.

At this rate they'll set a time limit on how long you can use the app per day so you have to pay to use it more
I'm glad to FINALLY see someone talk about this. I'm sure you're not the only person to comment on this, but you'vebeen the forst video I've seen, but it upsets me to see them turn to this tbh... especially since there's so much stuff I still want to try to animate on the app!
at this point its better to pay just once for toonsquid. more features, no ads, no paywalls.

I would recommend Toonsquid because that was what I switched to when I stopped using Flipaclip, and its also (in my opinion) much better
what really bugs me is no more projects added which makes no sense and is very bad for me because I want to keep everything

@FL0R4_AFT0N from what i remember, i think you're able to use Uptodown or APKPure to find older versions, if you're not a fan of the newest bs updates that leave tools behind a paywall, simply install an older version and see if there's anything you like in it
I would use ibis paint X. Cause u watch an add for the + brushes like flipaclip from before. And you can make an animation by scrolling down after you press the + button. (Animation)

They got flopped so damn hard when Ibis paint releases a feature where you can animate without watermark on it, so they became desperate
i actually loved flipaclip in the olden days , we were used to things being in the left side but not in the right side. the blur tool doesnt even make it mix and blur when mixing colours , and now the ads turned into flipaclip plus. what is wrong with flipaclip? does flipaclip wants less than a million players? i know that flipaclip is just trying to raise money but it makes people mad , including me. i usually use 4 layers , now i need to spend money on just a layer. and right now i am using ibspaint for this useless update

Also it annoys me that the people behind the app treat all their users like little kids. In their ""tutorials"" there is way more effort put into grabbing some 6 yo attention with popular characters than actually explaining how specific tools work.
That's why when i'm confused about tools I would rather watch tutorials made by normal flipaclip users than the hellhole that is flipaclip's official channel
