Voodoo is so fun and interesting to learn about. One thing to keep in mind, if you are NOT descended from a W African you are considered a "stranger." The ancestors simply don't recognize or know you and Voodoo is all about ancestral spirits. You can still participate and even practice, but as a guest or "stranger" with all the due reverence and graciousness you would give elders from a strange place. Introduce yourself humbly and give a great deal of admiration to the ancestral spirits of W Africa and New Orleans. True story: I gave offerings to the Voodoo Queens of New Orleans when there. I felt very safe my whole visit. I wandered all over, never got lost or confused. Felt very welcomed by the locals. I definitely felt the spirits guided me and protected me.
This was a very well thought out box. I love that she included all of the educational material with it, and that she sourced the dolls from an authentic Voodoo Priestess. Lovely intentions and tools to learn about and work with. Thank you for sharing this with us 💜💜💜
Yes I was super excited when she said a voodoo priestess made these for us!! The history has me digging deeper for more information. Definitely one of my favorite boxes this year! 💜💜💜

😂 my funny bones were showing! I agree I really enjoyed this box as well. Always fun learning other cultures! This box is in my top 5 faves, definitely recommend! 💜
I don’t refer to the poppets/dolls I use in my practice as Voodoo dolls as I honestly don’t know anything about that Religion’s Witchcraft. It’s great lots of info is included in the box. I really enjoy making my own poppets, mostly out of felt. I put little zips in the back of the felt ones to make it easier to fill/unfill with herbs/crystals etc. I do use fashion dolls sometimes as personal poppets too….my favourite is a Begoth doll. This year I’m planning on expanding my use of roots as it’s not something I’m very familiar with yet. Very interesting box 📦🖤 Perfect candle 🕯️ for the Chinese New Year 💰
@@SassySoulSisters I don’t sell them. It’s really simple if you don’t want to put in the zip you could use Velcro strips. I just cut out two gingerbread man type shapes in felt then hand stitch them together. If you don’t want to be able to empty them to reuse just stitch most of it up then stuff through a gap before you finish the stitching 🧵 Don’t forget to add your own tag locks if it’s for you, bits of your hair is perfect for this (I always save mine from every haircut).
Awesome box, this was so original. I dig the doll and candle the most. thus, it is important that the voodoo history and stories were sent with the box since voodoo has a negative connotation; yet the magic can also be used for higher spiritual practices. Stacey, I really enjoy your vlogs; you are so open and supportive to other soul sisters vendors. keep up the good work sis. 👍🏽

Ooh - a voodoo doll! I have a similar one that I got in New Orleans. She only has a couple of white pins on her, but I also have a smaller one on a magnet that came with the seven different colored ones.
Just opened my box. Loving everything in it. My doll was a little differnt as the beads around it were all gold and the eyes were different as mine were painted white.
I wonder if the incense smells like Victoria Secret's Love Spell perfume lol. This box was super cool! I skipped it, I just didn't feel called to it or adding yet another aspect of the craft to things I want to learn yet lol. Love the voodoo doll!
One system of magic that should be left alone voodoo is closed big time my partner is voodoo and they all say the se thing voodoo is off limits just leave the system alone and have respect for the black people that died for that practice
I respect all religions, cultures and practices. There is nothing wrong with learning about different cultures and their practices as long as you do it respectfully.
