Wow these are such wonderful drawings/paintings you have guided your students to produce - Rob - you were my teacher at Otago polytechnic many moons ago- I have just recently started as an art specialist teacher at a mangere primary- intermediate school - your channel is an inspiration! Thank you! I will be tuning in regularly- Emily Pauling
Emily!! So good to hear from you and thank you for your kind and encouraging comments!! Congratulations on your new role too! That sounds like it will be a great journey - thank you for sharing!
Great topic and excellent discussion of the steps. These steps can work for composers, athletes, and scientists. After reading that some netsuke artists specialized in one subject, I have focused for a couple years drawing, printing, and painting monkeys. Being open to what actually happens is so important. I am teaching 4-7 year olds badminton and encourage an experimental approach to racket skills and footwork. Certainly, I demonstrate and we drill particular shots, but each player has to experiement with the gestures. Happy New Year! Thanks for the ideas!
This is an excellent lesson for all ages! Thank you - I’m so glad I came across your wonderful and generous channel. Your students are very lucky to be exposed to such great art in such a creative and thought provoking way at such a young age. These lessons will stay with them forever.
Thank you so much for your generous feedback. Yes, I did know Sue during my high school teaching days in Auckland - and I concur with her drawing advice! So sad to learn she passed (and I discovered since your message, that it was very recently). She left a great legacy among her students and colleagues...
Such a good teacher.
Thank you so much for your feedback!🙏🏼😊

Thanks Rob. I have a student who will benefit from this process.

Another excellent video lesson . Did you know Sue Daly? (RIP) she encouraged us instead of doing one drawing or painting do 20!
