    My wife has a ‘73 1275cc RWA model, in British Racing Green, for which I am chief mechanic (well the only one, actually) and bodywork polisher! Your tip for attaching the Tonneau Cover straps first was genius! Like a complete numptie, I have been doing that part last, but now you have opened my eyes to a whole new world of Midget enjoyment! Here’s to many more topless days (the car, not ‘er indoors) with bugs in our teeth and sunburn (even in good old Blighty) on our heads!

    Another great video Andy.
    That is the correct way of folding the Midget hood.
    I have always followed this procedure on my Midgets over the years and it keeps your hood and perspex windows from any damage and makes it last alot longer.
    Cheers.👍

      Nice one Ian, I saw a video years ago when I got mine. And it looked totally wrong , luckily someone from MASC informed me on how best to fold, so thought I would chuck one on here !

    ohhhhh, snap the tonneau cover inside first! I've been fighting that part since I bought her and gave up leaving it in the trunk^H^H^H^H^Hboot. Thanks, Andy. Truly helpful. My hood is the example of what happens when you don't fold it correctly. Both side lights sporting a large slice and both sides sporting a slice that will let rain water pour into the rear that the previous owner attempted to repair with duct tape. I literally just yanked that tape off today. So, time for a new hood.

      So simple and easy. I think my side velcro is needing replaced too, ooh aah misses! I've had Macy a year and never had her roof up so she will be topless 🤭 again soon and I will use your method to tuck her top away nicely, yum. I look forward to the next exciting episode of AMGA. Cheers. Jimmy

    Only had my 79 midget about a year and have only put the top down once, and that's the only time it'll go down, now it's going to stay down. I think I did it right, but it was a bit of a mission. I'm only going to take it out on nice sunny days anyway.

    • @AndysMGAdventures
      @AndysMGAdventures  2 роки тому

      Obviously keeping it down means the material can shrink a little so might make it harder re assembling next time . But yeah, sunny drives are the best !

      @@AndysMGAdventures Hmm, maybe I'll put it up now and then to give it a stretch, perhaps there's something you can rub on the vinyl to keep it supple. It needs a couple of minor repairs as well.

    Wow I don't recall doing anything this fancy. I think I just crumpled it all in. No idea. My back window clear plastic was missing so it didn't matter to much I suppose.

    Another question if you'll be so kind - at about 4:30-440 time when you show the b pillar poppers - the welting (?) that runs down the seam of the bod and across the bottom of the door opening..what is it called and where can I get it? I've looked at moss motors but not sure where (door, body, interior?) it is or what it's called.

    • @AndysMGAdventures
      @AndysMGAdventures  2 роки тому +1

      It can be called the door draught excluder, and you can Try places like MGB Hive If Moss aren't stocking it 😉
