No, this is actually relatively fast. Not sure which Bream recording you're listening to, but I just listened to one that was much slower than this. As for Paco de Lucia, his flamenco background allows him to play such fast scales. Pepe however, focuses a bit more on phrasing the scales to sound like melodies as opposed to only focusing on speed. (Pepe is actually a scale master too, but no one wants trade the musicality of the Aranjuez Concerto for speed. Villa-Lobos Etude 2, different story. I like Pepe's tempo here. It's on the faster side, but definitely not as fast Paco de Lucia.
Hadi Eskandari i think this is the best version of this concerto, just because Pepe Romero had the oportunity to listen to Rodrigo personaly about the correct way to play this beautiful master piece.

Also I'm not saying Paco de Lucia sacrificed musicality for speed, but I do think his recordings are quite fast.

No offence to the master..but I think that he is a better teacher than he is a player..
Pepe is a great guitarist...but I can't tell if its Him or the Orchestra that is Not staying in time. Probably... Pepe... but he's still great! :)
