@@dasgeek lord, I would not put it over on Sony to have one hard drive supporting their customer database. I've seen (lived) this in corporate America as an employee. Company jewels all on one over worked hard drive.

The captcha is out sourced to another company to my knowledge as I have seen it on Twitter as well, it is just asking you to pick the image with x amount of whatever object I think. This is honestly one of the easier ones, but I guess the way it shows you how to solve it could be better
I got that, it's the fact that it kept failing me and many of the choices didn't have just that amount. It would give 5 options not one of the 5 had just 2 for example. I think it was setup to just keep people from getting to the form during this outage
This happened to me late November and then it said I was banned for chargeback. I thought it was them being spiteful for the month prior from the same thing except I payed it back and I was back online. At least it's not just me.
My first chargeback was in November so I paid the debt which was my fault at first. Then I get my account back and I’m playing for alittle while and then boom, my account gets banned again in December for the same game and they want me to pay it again. I checked with my bank and there are no other chargebacks for December. Not sure what to do at this point.
Ya it's kind of sad they won't announce there is an issue more broadly. People are posting screenshots of chat support at least stating there is a known issue. Hope your parent gets back in soon.
I got a permanent ban today from psn and I'm very confused I don't have contact with people online I only play single player games and the code was for a charge back which my bank shows the payment went though and I didn't cancel payment or nothing! I filled out the contact form I guess we will see!
I had same issues which I contacted support and nothing was done about it but I was told by a friend to reach out to a friend which I did and he helped me in fixing mine and it's working perfectly fine, I sure he gone help you as well🎉

I appreciate that. More than be upset, it's a really interesting happening that makes me re-think this 'cloud' gaming infrastructure. On a PC they could ban me from 'a game' with Sony they're banning people from the entire Sony Network forcing a completely new account to be created. Now obviously, this is a bug based on Reddit/Twitter, etc. but the fact that's apparently how they handle bans...that's kind of crazy.

Xbox is no better when it comes to this. I saw one video of a dude who got his whole console banned from Xbox Live, and he didn't do a damn thing.
