The Finals revolves around people competing in a televised virtual combat game show. This is reflected in the holographic crowds which are seen during gameplay, as well as the commentary provided by the game in the form of various hosts making observations about the status of a given team or the game itself. Developer Embark Studios have stated that the game is partly inspired by The Hunger Games and Gladiator

All game modes feature 3 or 4 teams, each competing against each other in a "free-for-all" competition. The players choose their characters based on a "Light", "Medium", "Heavy" scale, with the character model changing to reflect that. Certain weapons, moves, and features are class specific and each class has a different movement speed. Light builds are faster and smaller but are weakened by a much lower health amount. Medium builds are a traditional soldier class, with median speed, size and durability, while Heavy builds are the most durable class, but have limited maneuverability.

@@user-mf8rj6ut2y What about map destruction, most of the unique gadgets, weight/classes and their specializations, throwables objects, map verticality? It's more than just the game mode that makes the finals what it is, I've seen multiple people make the crude comparison with CS or Valorant, it's something I can't understand. Cashout is unique but it's not the only defining factor of the game, they're trying different things just like they did with power shift only now with ranked and it looks like a lot of people liked TA. I also think that TA has more potential for ranked than cashout, embark themselves are risking it and giving it a chance so maybe we should just try it out, they did say they were gonna improve TA for ranked.

I agree with you. I have been axing for a outfit save option for forever. Hopefully we get it next season. It would be such a good quality of life change.
They should just add it but instead I have to remember all of my outfits still 😂
No, a big hand cannon for the heavies. but to be honest, it’ll be just like the shotgun that he already has.
I bet it’s real hard to make new guns in the finals because you have to make them somewhat different than the other guns. That’s probably one of the reasons why we’re getting dual katana a spear and a bow.
It might be but I am assuming that they did this because of the main theme of the season and maybe couldnt think of interesting regular weapons

Removing what made the game Iconic from Ranked is a massive mistake. If all I can get is gold and I can't grind for Ruby or Diamond in the standard cash out mode I'm out! Never going to come back.
I cant say it Terminal Attack will be the main mode, usually embark likes to try out these type of things before they switch it
Im assuming if it is theyre trying to get more people to play it and see how it plays at a higher level
Wow, so you play the game only for ranked? Not because the game is fun? It's a FTP game, so you know, embark doesn't own any of us anything. I think we should wait and see, probably not a whole lot of people were playing ranked because if it was that popular then they wouldn't try to change the mode. The mode will still be in the game just not ranked, so if you don't want to play the game anymore maybe that's because you like the idea of having high elo in a game that you grinded hours rather than actually liking the game itself, I don't blame you, I have friends that grinded thousands of hours in CS and they don't like CS for a long time but they know that if they leave they will lose the knowledge/skills and will have to grind their rank from scratch in another game.
Cashout would never work in an actual e-sport tournament, it's too much chaos, 3v3v3v3 is not ideal for tactical scenarios (it's basically a game of vultures/rats), the mode revolve around RNG, the first and second team to reach the bank have a tactical disadvantage, the game has high TTK so escaping life/death scenarios is easier than a game like CS where reaction time (which is a skill) and map knowledge is crucial, narrating four teams at the same time would be tough for narrators, and I can keep going. Cashout is fun and I am a cashout enjoyer myself but it's far from being an optimal mode for a ranked game or real life tournaments, it's just not good enough for that, they need to revamp the mode if they want to go the e-sports route. Terminal Attack is not perfect, far from it, but it's a step in the right direction.
@@Kimjong-disco-pc9ti I do agree with a lot of what you said. I enjoy the game a ton I have over a 1000hrs in the game and own everything in the shop. I play all the game modes. TA is for sure my least favorite just because I have played so much of that type of game with CS and COD S&D. The 3v3v3v3 game mode does have 3rd parties or even 4th parties that happen often. In high level games you play around it by either being the team that does the 3rd or 4th party or you just kill everyone. Sometimes going for the cash out as the second team in and grabbing the cash out at the right time is the move. For some they may not like it or it may feel unfair but it can be leveraged to your advantage and is a strategy in high level play. I got to top 4,000 and stopped my grind in ranked. I was giving the game a break so I could come back in fresh for season 3 and grind for that sweet Ruby ranked, then come to find out its only for TA! I was just heartbroken because I took time off work just to begin my ranked grind and now it feels like a waste. I was a little over the top in my reaction saying I will quit and never play again but I also want my opinion to be heard just like everyone else. In some sense playing the game or not is casting your vote on what happens.
