Love it sir!!! I learned land navigation in the US Army in the late 60s.
After getting out of the Army I spent many years hiking & backpacking into the wilderness. I carried a US Army compass & 2 backups. I carried rolls of maps in an aluminum tube. Not many people can do this these days.

Huge fan of you work. I've read "lost art of natural guidance" and I was in awe. I love to camp and bushcraft and had no idea of most of what you taught me.
However, I'm from the south hemisphere (Brazil) and I would love some guidance over south guidance and plants. But your videos now give "visual hints" onto what have been mostly words.
I have been taking my notebook and trying to take notes over sunlight, air moisture, which plants were there. Would you reccomend me some guides to know plants names?
Even tho I live and grew in Brasil, the "cerrado" biosphere is very diverse and have an infinitude of plants.
Thank you so much for this new type of knowledge that I've found myself in love with!

Hi Tristan, is this the same regardless of one’s location on the planet? Eg southern vs northern hemisphere vs equator. Thanks

No this would largely only apply to northern latitudes.
