The Treatment plant at Surat Smart City.

Surat is a growth engine for India. The textile sector, diamond sector and manufacturing sector are growing rapidly. The industries here are water-intensive industries. For this, it is very important that every drop of water should be optimally utilised.
Under the Aegis of the Smart Cities Mission, Surat Municipal Corporation or SMC has doubled down on its efforts to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle water.
It set up the Dindoli Tertiary Sewage Treatment Plant in 2022 as a significant step towards water conservancy.
The beneficiary of this tertiary sewage treatment plant or treated water is the Pandesara industrial area. They are majorly using this water for their dyeing purpose and washing purpose of textiles.
And now with a capacity of 44MLD, Dindoli Tertiary STP is generating industrial grade water to Pandesara successfully. Basically, all the wastewater generated from the city are fed into this plant…and advanced treatment facilities clean the water to almost potable limits!
