Gujarati Samaj Berlin (GSB) was originally established in 2009 by a few limited numbers of Gujaratis living in
Berlin.
As one of the most happening and beloved events of the Gujarati community - the Navaratri, the Gujarati Samaj
Berlin has celebrated that since 2009 bringing together more than 200 participants every year and spreading the
joy of the festival and keeping intact our culture in a foreign land.
The Samaj has seen itself grow since its establishment over the years where in 2018 and 2019, the same Festival
was organised and celebrated with more and 700 participants.
The Samaj did not limit itself to celebrations but extended its boundaries to support during unforgettable days of
the COVID crisis by collaborating with the Embassy of India in Berlin and other Indian associations.
Furthermore, the Samaj serves to provide a platform via social media for students and other Gujaratis for finding
accommodations in Berlin, promoting small & big businesses for spreading their presence and connecting people
together to help each other.
Gujaratis and the taste of Gujarat can never limit itself from spreading its influence wherever it is and whenever
may be!
With this Motivation, the idea to be registered as a Non-Profit Organization was born!
With several successful events like Potluck, Navratri and Movie Screening in the last 2 years which saw huge
enthusiasm amongst the growing community, today Gujarati Samaj has established its presence in the German
Government calling itself - GUJARATI SAMAJ BERLIN "e.V"
Where the "V" stands for a society...UNITY!
The Samaj saw its last successful event of Navratri 2022 on the 24th and 25th of Sep, organizing and managing a
further of 900 people seeing quite a few Non-Gujaratis, Internationals and People travelling from across Germany!
The event experienced for the 1st but not the last time, the presence of our honourable, His Excellency, the
AMBASSADOR of India in Germany along with other Respected Officers of the Embassy.
The Samaj plans to provide further benefits to our people by means of memberships and collaborate with other
Indian Associations for the celebration of our National Days - Independence Day and the Republic Day in
Germany.
