    Henrik and Daniel are Hall of Famers. The Twins have been in this league since the year I was born. They have more class than the 1920 British Class system and I can’t help but want to see them back next season. I’m not a Canucks fan. I’m not a fan of a Canadian team or a team in a traditional hockey market.
    22
    33
    These numbers need to be in Rodgers Place (I think it’s Rodgers place. If that’s Edmonton it’s Rodgers Arena) I just can’t remember, forgive my ignorance). They need to be in the rafters. No Canuck should wear those numbers ever again.
    I’m going to twist something the Hurricanes said to their captain in 2016
    Thank you Henrik
    Thank you Daniel
    Thank you Sedins.
    I think everyone associated with hockey can’t help but wish them the best of luck with their families and there future careers should they return in a management role or something of the calibre.

      Rogers arena is canucks. I forgive your ignorance, im canadian.
      Those numbers are in the rafters next season, hands down. These two of the top 3 best swedish forwards to play hockey (Mats Sundin is #1... another swede who played time with the canucks!).

      dylancarrigan99 The Sedins have to be 2 and 3. Daniel 2 and Henrik 3 even if you think Henrik is the more talented twin. That way the poetic irony that they carry with their numbers is maintained.

      Frag what frag I can't see Perry not making the hall on top of his Hart (which again should have been Daniel's) he's got a rocket Richard and a cup and 1083 points, 5 seasons with over 100 points and also 89 points with 36 goals in 118 playoff games. To me if the twins get in (which they definitely should) then Perry should get in too

      R Adamo not trying to be a dick but your stats are inaccurate he has 957 games played and 766 points and has never once broken the 100 point plateau his top season being 98 points in the year he won the hart. I see him kind of like how Danny Heathly was, but I don’t know if that makes it to the Hall

    I want to point out that the quality of competition also helped.
    The Northwest division was a powerhouse in the early 00s with Vancouver mostly fighting Colorado for divisional supremacy (and the rest of the teams were no slouches either). But by the late 00s every team save Vancouver had fallen apart and the Northwest became so weak that the Canucks usually had the division title wrapped up by January. And the Sedins feasted on the weaker teams to secure their scoring titles and Vancouver its President trophies. That was 32 creampuff games (back in the days when the schedule was divisional-heavy like the NFL).
    (this is where I believe Alberta germinated its legendary hatred for Vancouver -- through these regular drubbings at the hands of the Canucks)
    That's not to say the Sedins weren't great players or the Canucks not an elite team during that era, but playing in a weak division meant that they had an easier schedule than the rest of the league.

  • @answeris4217
    @answeris4217 6 років тому +5

    There's something with Swedes and peaking late in their career. Alfredsson peaked late as well
    I personally think all both Sedins are going in the hall of fame. Don't know if their jersey are going to get retired. But I also think even today a point per game or close to that is needed.

      Correction*
      *THE BEST!*
      There's really no debating it.
      Who's better, Bure?
      Not really.
      The twins accomplished WAY more and never changed teams.

    • @answeris4217
      @answeris4217 6 років тому +1

      Pavel Bure played his best years in Vancouver. I remember him as a Canuck more than any other team. Pavel Bure changed Hockey as it is played today. A lot of the things he did that where not done before him are seen in today's game all the time.
      The Sedins maybe stayed in one club their whole careers but they didn't have the impact that Pavel Bure had.
      After all Pavel was the Russian Rocket. For a guy that didn't even play in Montreal or had Richard attached to his name that is a pretty big accomplishment.

    • @restorationeurope8970
      @restorationeurope8970 6 років тому +3

      Gabriel Matte
      He sure did!
      But he only played 7 seasons for the Canucks.
      The Sedins played *17* seasons for the Canucks...
      Pavel Bure totaled 478 points during his years as a Canucks compared to the Sedins' *2,111.*
      Hank - 1,041 Danny - 1,070
      They Sedins also brought us two President's Trophies (two years in a row, 2011 and 2012)
      Pavel brought none.
      Bure and the twins both brought us to within one game of a Stanley Cup aswell.
      But Henrik has a King Clancy Trophy, a Hart Trophy and a Art Ross. Daniel has a Art Ross and Ted Lindsay Trophy.
      A Combined 5 trophies, while Bure won only one trophy (well technically two because he had most goals in a season before rocket richard trophy was invented).
      The Sedins have also done 10× as much charity and community work.
      Care to debate this more?

    • @mikesmith4553

      I think being the best player(s) on a team may actually be a hindrance in this regard, too. You're right though; it is a team sport. If you go purely on team trophies, is Chris Kunitz not the #1 player of the past decade?

      Raymond Wildeman Lol...Your argument is so invalid, I can respect if you just don’t like him, but comparing him to hank & dank is not a good basis to grade players on, & if that’s what you use, you won’t find any players like that outside of the top 1st & 2nd overall pick. Hank & Dank are once in a lifetime franchise players. Please rethink what you post before throwing it online for everyone to see.

      About36GREEKS lol no, Henrik is the better player, not only are Daniel’s goals are mostly all direct assists from Henrik, and Henrik
      proved he was able to shoot by scoring 29 goals in a season. As for goals vs assists, sure scoring is harder than getting assists, but no one will say Ovi is a better player than Crosby. Fyi Henrik lead the league by assists three years in a role, that is HARD. Love Daniel with all my heart but Henrik is better.

      Nucks&Saints 2233&09 And I disagree they have the same amount of career points but Daniel has more goals and the longevity , henrik looked like he should’ve retired 3 years ago while Daniel looked like he could play another 3

      About36GREEKS Brian Burke talked about the Sedins after they retired and he said on tv that he drafted the sedins in the wrong order that hank should have gone before Danny cuz Hank can play without Danny but Danny can’t without Hank

    They will make the Hall of Fame, but they shouldn't, then again there are a lot of guys in the Hall of Fame that shouldn't be. Fact is the hockey Hall of Fame is BY FAR the easiest to get into in in all of sports

      They invented the slap pass and improved cycling in the corners. They have over 2000 games played combined and over 2000 points, They have won multiple individual trophies. With your logic barely no one should be inducted.

    The Sedins were talented hockey players who could perform only in the regular season, the Sedins could not perform in the playoffs. During the regular season, there is more time and space, and the referee would make the call, the Sedins were unstoppable on the power play. In the playoffs, if one wanted time and space, one must created it for themselves, the Sedins could not create their time and space in the playoffs. Playoff hockey is different from regular season hockey. The referees would not make the calls in the playoffs, the Sedins would complain to the referees, no calls, no power play, no time and space, the Sedins would fail in the playoffs, year after year. The Sedins will make it into the hall of frame base upon their regular season stats, I strongly disagree with the idea that the Sedins are future hall of framers. One knew the Canucks would fail in the playoffs because of the Sedins inability to perform in the playoffs.

      I mean they did perform pretty well in the playoffs stats wise. People started saying they arent playoff performers because of the Bruins series
