    Any defensive-minded coach that comes in needs to have a clear indicator of who their OC will be and what the plan for Caleb is, Carroll is no different. At Seattle he was doing it all so seeing him just coach again would work well for him. Carroll is a known and proven winner and one of only a very few available coaches you could bring in and know your culture will change, it will be immediate, and is strong enough to withstand any meddling from above. Anyone who immediately points to Pete's age or compares him to John Fox is guilty of lazy thinking and knows nothing about him.

      Age must be considered. He isn't coming into the league with the Seahawks as a 60 year old coach. He'll be 73. Does he have another 10 years in the tank? Doubt it.
      Nothing against Pete, but we need the Pete when he took over the Seahawks. Not the Pete that's 1 year removed from being fired by the Seahawks.

    the packers were smart enough to hire a bill walsh, west coach guy 40 years ago named mike holmgren because they realized that walsh had changed the nfl and have never looked back. meanwhile, the bears went from ditka to wanstadd to juron because they think “defense wins championships” and half their fans still think you can win with justin fields and want to hire mike vrabel. lol
    the packers would hire a high quality offensive coach, whether that johnson or coen or kubiak. they wouldn’t hire vrabel or an 80 year old carrol. they wouldn’t even discuss these things cuz they are so obviously stupid.

    Caleb did perform in clutch time in the first games against the Commanders, Lions, Vikings, and Packers, but the last few games just haven’t even been close enough to matter at all.. seems like the floor has fallen out of the Defense, too.

      If you fired the GM, you might as well tear down the roster and tank again next season. GMs are not players. You don't hire and fire these guys every 3 years.

      @@sevinbamuels6560So you would rather keep Poles a guy with obvious blind spots for coaching (Flus, Waldron, First year DC/RB) and building trenches (Had 3 years and they're awful)?? Culure there sucks and ignores blatant red flags and/or staff advice on Free Agents (Claypool, Davis, Bates). If Poles stays and misses on coach, trenches next year protecting Caleb, stopping the run/pass rush he's fired. Align GM with HC the way he didn't break our insane cycle of lame duck HC with Rookie QB. That fireable enough without his other issues. There are some players that will be cut/traded with a new GM. So what??? A few are making business decisions and/or getting paid too much for their lack of effort anyway. Any quality GM would trim the fat anyway. We have a much better foundation now so it won't be a fire sale like previous years.

    • @sevinbamuels6560
      @sevinbamuels6560 18 днів тому

      @@johns.9214 You forgot to add drafting Caleb and messing up a successful rebuild. That was his biggest mistake.
      Still, you don't fire managers every 3 years. And if you did, you might as well redo the entire thing
      Get a new GM, reset the QB position, trade away contracts like sweat, and Moore. Or, the front off to get this thing back on track is more appealing to me.
      Because as soon as the next GM comes in and not a top 5 team in the league for 3 years, you all will be crying to be starting again. And weren't Bears fans calling him King Poles 9 weeks ago? Remember: "'In Poles we Trust" last off season. Bears fans are wishy washy as hell.

      @@sevinbamuels6560 Eberflus was interviewed before Poles was GM. And then hired 48 hours later. Do you in your heart of hearts believe he actually wanted him? Or was he pressured into it? I think that was a board meeting decision, along with Waldron. I'd bet that hire was a contingency for Poles to be hired. They wanted people who were cheap and inexperienced and someone to put the blame on. The evidence of that is what it looked like before Poles became GM. Same exact decisions, going in a circle.
      IMO that hire was a board meeting thing, related to money/marketing. From their perspective, when things go bad and then things go good, that's great for business. Because the excitement reignites when they win and it keeps fans coming to the game/hopeful. That's why many bears fans stick around through all the bullshit, and they know that. They didn't want to talk to Harbaugh because the team's president doesn't like him. There were rumors that Poles wanted eberflus gone with the Caleb pick, but they didn't let him.
      It wouldn't surprise me if the #9 pick was a board meeting plan too. Anybody with football sense knows we needed a center/LT. Poles is an offensive line guy, but he went for a WR????? How does that work? I never bought that. That's how dumb fans think who only watch the exciting positions. It confirmed it when he said they internally polled who they should take lol. They went for the hype pick. I like Rome but it wasn't the best thing for the team. It was a money move. After the draft of caleb/rome, they started talking about a stadium and went on hard knocks. These are all moves to build hype. But not necessarily to win. If we did better this season, Eberflus would've still gotten fired but probably have a chance at being picked up by another team. That's what this org is, a team for entry level coaches to begin their careers. Look at every single coach we have currently, and try to find success in their careers. It's been like that for the last 3 hires. So why do we keep going for them? They are cheap.

Johnson should be the next HC but I hope that Johnson contacts Robert Salem if that’s how you spell his name. I hope for this young teams chances them two will be our next coaches. Robert knows how to run a defense and Johnson definitely knows how to draw up a top notch offense. Make it happen Poles talk to Johnson and make sure you talk to him about Robert Salem he would have these guys playing with their hair on fire and that’s what the defense needs.
