This is fantastic. I am a single lady who is handy but was wondering how to put up a carport over my pop up camper. This has given me the confidence to start it. Thank you
This is cool the only thing is wood rot in the future putting cement around beams would probably extend its life if ur making it permanent just a heads up for anyone who is looking to do this. It's awesome to see this come together
Hell yeah! I'm building a weathering yard for hawks and using the same construction. I don't have such nice soil, so I had to rent a gas auger to drill my holes, 17 in all.
When it was up we had a hurricane come through. We were not directly hit but held up to 75mph winds then. Only bad is we had a branch fall off and poke a small hole but not too big of a deal it was on the very edge
I prefer my booth Ofcourse but ! Some of the best paint jobs I’ve done and seen been outside in driveway or yard in the absolute worse conditions lol just saying it’s all in the body work after buddy . Block and buff
Looks good. Did you put a pitch on it for drainage? I'm going to build one. I will be putting the posts in with quikcrete for more stability just in case.
do they make you get permission to put that up locally? I have an old rv ive been rebuilding and ive always covered things with tarps while working on it but have always wanted to just add a roof over it in my yard to make things easier. wasn't sure on whether or not the city would give me crap for it. will have to look into that.
Honestly I’m not sure I think it would depend on your city what they say. For me it’s only going to be temporary or I would have built it stronger and made a A frame pitch roof. Probably cemented the poles etc but few weeks this will get the job done. Was using this instead of inflatable paint booth.
You’ve got some beautiful trees brother and honestly it’s a decent property you’ve got there ! I live in the Texas Hill Country and I’m gonna be breaking through rock 🪨 to set my posts . Thx 🙏
@@jackieflynn7731 put it up to stay out of the sun while I worked on my car. It’s already down was up for about 6 months and really only took about 3 hours to put up so wasn’t too bad imo. All the pieces have already been reused on other projects so no waste either.

Just take your time and if you have a 2nd set of hands will help a lot a lot
Wow! No measuring tape, no saw, no square. You sure made it look easy.
Those cars will never be brought back to life
Nice video! 👍

Great Job
How would this handle a bad windy day?

Need more bracing
Great and quick. Nice area.
My advice is both sides at the bottom, a 2X8 or 2X10 down the entire side for extra support to hold the posts together...trust me on this!
Or fence panels, then put 45 degree bracing at the top
I’m curious about your tattoo can you make a video of the story of when you got it done thanks

Yes it was built on slight hill so it had a natural run off
It’s not like it’s gonna hold a foot of water it’s tin….. it will roll off
Cool video
nice vid! reminds me of me!
is that Sativa or Indica ??? 4/20 love

....Interesting soil. Where u at.
Why not use RC footing/stump for the pillars to sit on?
It was only up for a few months
looks good 👍👍
Nice !!!
Thank you I’m gonna get my butt to work on this

Great instructions. Thanks
Happy smoking buddy 😂
No concrete?
Are you saying it cost you $1000 for this carport?
Why do the rails get attached to the side of the posts instead on top of them?
Yeah and the entire roof structure is being held to the post with nails/screws so the post are not actually supporting anything.
Why no cement?
It was only up for about 3-4 months so it was very temporary
What was your cost to build?
he said it was roughly 415
automatic like because of the old school box Chevy's back there
This does not look anything like the clickable link to this video. Misleading
This is 1000000% the exact same thing in the video. Sorry if your not capable to understanding how things work.
I rather put blk tar around the bottom post and then pour cement.
I agree but this was temporary for me
@@cappafpv
With all the money spent? How long are you going to keep it temporarily? It looks permanent after a haul and hard work.

I take it it's all coming back down in a few weeks ? Cause I and I both know that when rainy time comes it will all be a fuckery show
Oh believe me it was. Ruined a paintjob under it because it monsooned on it 10 min after spraying.
Where is code enforcement 😂
