dagar is regarded as a synonym of DRUPAD MUSIC.THIS oldest and traditional form of music has been rendered by traditional singers-the dagar family.this music was collected by UNESCO and they preserve it for generations to come. The music lovers are really indebted to DAGAR FAMILY for their great servces to HINDUSTANI MUSIC.
Bought this album today in Rotterdam. These Unesco Collection have some amazing jewells. My friend Ricardo Passos is a multi instrumentalist and teaches Dhrupad in Portugal
Dhrupad and Dhamar are original musical forms of the world. The music rendered at Indra Sabha used to start with this and pakhavaj, the only accompanying instrument was a must.
