That's my humanitarian cause right there.....buy a few billion vpns and hand them out to heavily censored countries like if Robin Hood and Santa teamed up all year lol
If I go to China then I won't be able to use these sites anymore. I really like this initiative because they are promoting and developing their own Chinese companies and not letting other foreign companies enter.
Exactly as a citizen of the USA I can talk all the shit i want about our leaders and the stuff they do without it getting censored or government interference watch I will show you SCREW ALL DEMOCRATS SCREW ALL REPUBLICANS THE GOVERNMENT OF THE USA IS CORRUPT AND KILL LOTS OF PEOPLE BLAH BLAH BLAH
I would say they are more free in China than us here in the US guys. We are not even able to watch Russian media owing to the systematic banning. We aren’t even allows you know the official speeches of Lavrov - out of bounds. In China they have access to more diverse information and readily read the Wall St Journal as well as media from all around the world without the extraordinary censorship (including Assange etc) that we’re repressed with.
Let’s concentrate on the censorship in our own country, which we supposedly have some legitimate control over, rather than interfering with other countries. For example we are censoring all Russian media right now, which is akin to North Korea censoring access to US mainstream media for example. But when others censor we call it out but when we censor we cheer it. Or take Assange - we should complain about freeing him rather than complaining about something outside of our sovereignty.
If you were smart enough to tell right from wrong, solve the problem simply by getting a VPN; If you couldn't even figure out what is a VPN, then you'd better not connect with outside world in China because you are also easily contaminated by all those comments/judgements. BTW all the keyboard players out there in the comments, judge before you actually get yourself a flight ticket and see the world. You are the one who's blocked by your media. Peace.
But chinese citizens can freely travel to any country right? If they go to, say, the U.S they can access YT, Google, etc and browse content that's censored in China. So... isn't it useless to block all these platforms when their citizens can perfectly use in another country??
How often do you travel to another country? Unfortunately for a large country such as the US or China, it is harder to travel to another country. While this may be easier to do in small countries like in Western Europe, it would be uncommon.
Logan the Llama makes good points... but you are right F DL, they can access information outside their domain, however, if 100 of their citizens return with the same info/news that is censored on the internet there, whatever news or info that might be pertinent for people to know, it is difficult to get the word out once they go back, or if they try to communicate from the outside... and even then, if people are so indoctrinated into an idea, for example, they may not believe... it would take a very concerted effort to get their gazillions of citizens to hear the truth about whatever it is the government does not want them to talk about... but, even in the USA, there are subjects that people have been shouting from the roof tops about and hardly anyone is paying attention anyways... but, if certain topics begin to build up some momentum as has been the case recently, people are more and more beginning to be deplatformed on social media and the search algorithms for certain websites are already being suppressed ... even mailchimp is beginning to disallow people with massive e mail subscribers if they don't like the subject matter of the subscription newsletters... it is only because they threaten industry, corruption and/or power of some sort generally... the fact that China is doing this, and this has been a common theme throughout history, should give us, in the USA, a red flag notice to wake up and look around and consider how WE in the USA are being censored... which again, brings up the problem with what you suggest... if people from China come to the USA, they might get different info about their own country, but they will also get watered down, propaganda, lies and other info that is of world signifigance won't be available to them HERE either
If only over 1% of Chinese citizens are financially capable to travel overseas just for fun, and I’m being optimistic here. Therefore, the censorship works very well in China.
*"This comments has been censored by the chinese government"*
Only a scared government is afraid of words..
Who is afraid in the USA?
No ,you are not actually right.it in order to protect the people.

A more accurate question would be: WHAT ISN'T CHINA CENSORING?
you act like what we see is not censorored
@@dionfolaa8102 Sheesh, and it only took you how long to figure that shit out?
China would censor soy sauce if it could.

About the Internet, PRC was creating the second "Great Wall", that was "The Great Firewall" in Cyberspace.
Well many Chinese can go through it. Especially with VPN.
Not that "great" I guess 😁.

Thanks to China my show was cancelled because of freaking censorships.
“positive propaganda”
In discussing censorship in other countries, it should give rise to question the massive effort to suppress the voices of those in the USA.

I chose p2p ecosystem utopia with great functionality. The system itself cannot be blocked, and the data cannot be hacked.
China should block vpn as well. Thousands of Chinese still access youtube
Um America really can't complain about censorship anymore. If you want to criticize china, you need to do something about Florida.
