WOAH WOAH WOAH!!! Let me get this perfectly straight: You comment something that is completely unrelated to the fact that I have two HAZARDOUSLY HOT girlfriends? Considering that I am the unprettiest UA-camr worldwide, it is really incredible. Yet you did not mention it at all. I am VERY disappointed, dear her
I went to college with Domo Genesis and he was really big on Blu & Exile back in the day, got me to check them out. I listened to BtH so much in 09 after that. Respect to Domo, Blu and Exile.
@@ringer1324 funny enough I met him my second day in college wearing a DOOM shirt. He was like “I got some homies that really fuck with DOOM” that’s like the only reason he approached me. Because of my shirt. and then he told me he rapped n shit and asked me to check out some of his songs right there on the spot
@@TheTentailsnarutoI’m glad you enjoyed! there’s a lot of shit surrounding Domo that’s interesting to me and I’ve never been able to share so I guess I’ll do it now. (this ones long) I met Domo in the fall of 2009 at Arizona State. I ended up leaving mid 2010 so it’s not like we were best friends but we always said whatup to each other on campus. I helped him and his homies get weed a couple times. Domo used to really suck at rapping imo. He got so much better over the years. When I met him and he showed me music I remember I didn’t like the one he rapped on, but he showed me the song “Biscuits” (who I later found out was Hodgy rapping over a Leftbrain beat of course) and I remember thinking the beat was sick. In 2009 Domo’s fav rapper was Wiz Khalifa, he told me this himself. The mixtape “Flight School” had just come out. I checked him out and I hella got into Wiz after that... fastforward a bit and if you recall Wiz’s first album when he got big was called “Rolling Papers”. Domo’s first mixtape under OF is called Rolling Papers and it had just come out right before Wiz announced his shit. And they were both weed rappers. I remember Domo and OF being low key irritated and expressing it on tumblr n shit He checked out my dorm once while he was kickin it with my next door neighbors (these fine ass chicks lol) I showed him this lil collage I had on my wall with posters n shit and he complimented me on them, specifically my Kanye and Cudi posters... fastforward to 2011 or so and this negro took a picture with Cudi AND Kanye IN ONE PHOTO- at the VMA’s when Tyler won. I remember being like “damn, this fool was just in my dorm being a fan like me” it was trip. But all because I remembered liking that beat from the song he showed me (Biscuits) I decided to look into the music him and “his crew” made after I left ASU. I remember thinking the OF aesthetic (videos and artwork mostly) was genius. But it wasn’t until I found Tyler’s music that I really believed in what they were doing. I thought Bastard was so unique and he could really fucking rap. It sounded wonky and amateurish but he made it work. And I’ve kinda been following Tyler’s career ever since Edit: Biscuits is actually produced by Tyler... but you can check the video and see my comment from 9 years ago lol
Been watching Fantano for a long time, so glad to see these interviews. I love the response’s from Blu & Exile and the questions themselves. Their new album is amazing!
I went to a Living Legends show back in 07'. I was so excited to see Murs, but he wasn't there, either way it was an amazing show. Anyway, these guys whom I've never heard of before performed right before them, it was Blu and Exile. They were touring for Below The Heavens. I fell in love with the songs they performed and became a huge fan since. Below The Heavens is one of my all time favorite albums.
Give Me My Flowers is much better than Miles imo. Miles had some shit verses by some of the guest spots and some forgettable tracks. The peaks aren’t as high as GMMF and the consistency is not there.
Wdym, its literally 90 minutes of consistency and the peaks on Miles are waaaay above GMMF, Roots of Blue and Dear Lord have some of the best lyricism of 2020 and I feel like GMMF is more like a vibe and nowhere near as focus as Miles.
Love these two! Just relistened. It's a good ass time to be a Blu fan. This man's pen ethic is crazy! Release after release 36:59 DON'T GET CONFUSED THO WE GOT CRAZY STREET BANGERS 😂😂😂
Exile is my absolute favorite producer! Below the Heavens was the dopest underground album in the history of hip-hop. Oh and Blu is my baby daddy in my head ❤❤
So cool to get blu and exile together on an interview. But I feel like they were a bit confused by some of those questions. Maybe it’s just the way they answered. Like the Jazz question ran on when it could’ve been shortened to the end easily. Just my thoughts. Still a cool ass interview!
I loved blu and exile ever since i heard the first song on miles. Then i went back and listened to there old albums and these 2 men are geniuses. Also we need a “ you know what i mean” counter on blu 😂
IMO These's interviews are the best thing Antknee is doing right now. He keeps getting great guests. We're like 6 months away from a NAV interview.

Holy shit I still can't believe he got Blu & Exile It's so rare to see any interviews with them so this was really incredible
I'm so happy for Killer Mike's weight loss. El-P looks the same imo.
Below The Heavens came out 15 years ago and they're still on fire. Timeless duo
Still struggling to believe how fantano managed to get El-P and The Weeknd in the same room to do an interview with him.

Shout out for naming pink siifu in the mix man. Props
Miles was exactly the album the world needed when it came out.

Man, thanks for covering these guys. I'm a big fan of them and it means a lot.
It would be so dope to get a madlib interview, although I doubt it will happen since madlibs so introverted
After this anything is possible I reckon hope so
I’d love if fantano could have huge rappers do interviews but honestly some of these smaller artists have been/will be legendary
