Classic Game Room reviews STAR CASTLE for the Vectrex from 1983 based on Cinematronics' 1983 arcade game! There's a mysterious fortress in a far-off galaxy filled with riches and beautiful women who look like the babes in Flash Gordon (I made that part up, but it does enhance the story). You want in but the fortress is surrounded by golden-future-space walls and a Zorlon cannon! Destroy the walls, steal the riches, save the girls and rack up high scores in the awesome STAR CASTLE!! If it's on the Vectrex you must own it.

The vectrex is fascinating! I still have my Vectrex (MB model) since 1983 and it still works perfectly. since he was joined by two other small brothers :-)
For me it is the most magical console ever built. As I see the quality homebrew today, I'm speechless! Otherwise, thank you Mark for this video on "Starcastle" which is a great and challenging game .. friendship of France, Pat

My bad, Vectrex
My brother and I kept all the boxes and packaging material when we were young. Fast forward 30 years later and unsealing the doors to the shipping container with my kids,. While holding my USA Lite flickering bulb, we walked by Tutankhamen's sarcophagus, Anubis, the Ark of Covenant, parachute pants, Rampage Full size arcades and others until we made it to the waterbed headboard and in the pockets were Atari, Commodore 64, Nintendo, and Vectrex games. Unseen to human eyes and untouched by looters the treasure awaited a new generation. We slowly pulled the Vectrex with foam packaging out of its box and marveled at the ingenuity of the ancients!
Nice, finally another Vectrex review. I'd totally loan from my collection to see more reviews if only they did loaners (they rarely have but tend not to). I can understand why not though.
Ah, nice to see another classic game, rather than another PS4-that-looks-like-a-PS3 game. ;)
This, Pole position and scramble are my favorites in Vectrex
My god, haven't seen this game in almost 30 years. Out of all the Vectrex games this is the one I was addicted to the most!

Cool this is one of the only games I don't have a physical copy of (other than on the multicart). It looks like lots of fun and like most Vectrex games damn hard.
I just played this for the first time, and was surprised by the sheer difficulty!

I'm surprised this game hasn't gotten an uberkickass modern remake for download on a current gaming system yet.
This is a great version. These have been going for $100 on ebay for almost 3 years now. Yar's Revenge is actually directly based off of this game. I got to play the sit down version of this game. It was awesome!
I read that too. They were actually trying to make Star Castle for the 2600 but the system wasn't up to snuff for it so they took what they had done so far and made it Yars Revenge.

eww. jokes aside, this is terrible. I thought the vectrex was like a knockoff dreamcast or something; this is more like that driving game when i was a kid, where you just tried to keep the car on the road, and it looked like it was internally lit with a candle. Fun back then, but i didnt know/have anything better at the time.
