✨about:
I'm a PhD candidate in sociology writing my dissertation. "scholar noire" means 'black woman scholar'. Demystifying the Ph.D. so you don't have to.

I’ve noticed that UA-cam helps expose black male UA-cam creators for all of the things you stated in this video. It’s popular and glorified that black men hate black women.
I adore your social commentary, Sonita!
"Black Men Down" is back on Amazon!
I'm so happy you're back making videos 🥰💖
As a fellow sociologist of color, I LOVE your videos. Also, do you have a link to purchase the book your chapter is in? I would love to read it. Thank you!!!
if you email me i will happily send it to you! thanks tierra
I hate when people say black and brown. Brown for south Asians and black for Africans but in reality we are both brown skin. Black is like the TV. Sounds like racism to me.
I'm new to this channel. Never knew it existed. I hit the subscribe button right after I saw the video.
You did an EXCELLENT job discussing this complex topic in our community. This should be required viewing for all young people. Thank you so much for taking the time to create this content 😊💜
I love this. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Your commentary was everything in this video. I'm glad it found me 😊.
34 secs in and I'm in awe🖤👸🏾👸🏿👸🏽
thank you for this video!!
also the funny thing is it was mostly black women saying all those negative comments not men of any race mostly black women and some white women and gay men. loo.
I love your videos so much. Please upload more! Can you do one on the current election cycle?
Subbed!😁❤
Yes colorism is a thing in every community. I am African and Muslim and experience racism from Africans who have darker then me. I had a Sudanese girl tell me she hates blacks but yet she had darker skin color than me and she has the same hair as me but just speaks Arabic.
I am Ghanaian not African American.
Ughh Why did I watch this? This was depressing for me to hear as a black woman. But great commentary backed with facts!
Great video! @jouelzy is another youtuber & writer who uplifts black women and girls.
So black men haven't been facing colorism???From Smokie Robinson to Drake and Chris brown. Last time I checked it was black women who criticized Blue Ivy. I always wondered why the lightest skinned people become so pro black. This reminds me of Dear White People.
ATL 1 I think he is under the impression that light skin people like Drake face colorism too, the “you not black enough” colorism. Which is about as real as “reverse racism”. That is to say, not real at all. A lot of people really don’t understand colorism. They don’t understand that it is a by product of white supremacy so therefore it doesn’t go both ways, just like racism doesn’t go both ways.
