Kyoto (京都) - Tawaraya Ryokan (俵屋旅館) property tour

A property tour of Tawaraya Ryokan (俵屋旅館), a renowned Japanese Kyoto inn with a 300+ year history and only 18 guest rooms. It's certainly a unique experience - it exudes elegance in its simplicity and subtlety, from the entry hall that cannot be observed from the street, to its wabi sabi aesthetic, to its numerous nooks and crannies that are begging to be explored, observed and appreciated. Once you step inside, it's like you've entered a world lost in time. Later in a video, a staff member provides a detailed explanation of one of the folding screens (屏風 - Byōbu) as well as stone statues of Komainu (狛犬 - mythical Lion-dogs) and Shishi (獅子 - Lion) that are placed in front of it.
