I installed a SECUS on my 36 Grip 2 and Rhythm 36 Grip damper and can’t imagine a better setup. I had the Smashpot too, but the SECUS works great… Also have an EXT coil shock. Every fork and shock should have a climb switch!!!
Goddamn it, I just ponied up and bought new factory forks and shock. I guess it's like electronics - as soon as you get it it's outdated. In 5 years I'll probably buy these just in time for the next gen to come out.
I believe so - we're actually getting a couple of GRIP X2 dampers to fit into last years Fox 36 and 38 fork, in preparation for an article about what's involved with making that upgrade. I'll double check on the 34 Rhythm, but it should be the same. [Wil]
@IIISentorIII Yes you can retrofit the GRIP X and GRIP X2 into the 2024 34 Rhythm, but not for the 2023 and below 34 Rhythm due to the lower leg damper base stud hole diameter being too small. Good news is you can retrofit these GRIP SL, GRIP X and GRIP X2 cartridges into pretty much every other fork, even the Marzocchi Bomber Z1, Bomber 58 and Bomber DJ (except Marzocchi Bomber Z2 as it is in the same boat as the 34 Rhythm).
If the chassis remain mostly the same, do the new dampers fit inside the previous generation of forks? I have a brand new 2023 34 stepcast that id like to try with the new SL damper if it fits..
They certainly do! Or at least, many of the recent forks will be compatible with the new dampers - we've got the GRIP X2 damper on the way to retrofit into the current 36 and 38 in preparation for an upcoming article for flowmountainbike.com I've also got a 34 Step-Cast on the way with the GRIP SL damper - very interested to see how that compares to the FIT4 version I have at the moment! We're still waiting for pricing on the dampers, so keep your eyes peeled to the Flow website for an update. [Wil]
any word on how the sl damper rides compared to the fit4? seems they went backwards with offering low compression on the fit4 lockout version compared to the open closed of the grip sl
Yep! We've reviewed the GRIP SL damper in the new 32 Step-Cast fork here: flowmountainbike.com/tests/2025-fox-32-step-cast-review/ Hope that helps! [Wil]

ngl i think it looks horrendous 💀 if they just kept the lowers a normal color it would be the best looking fork I've ever seen... but that weird goldish color just does not work imo
So does Goldmember, he lost his grip2 damper and lowers in an unfortunate smelting off and replaced them with gripX and new lowers coated in you guessed it, GOLD

Awesome meeting you down in Santa Cruz Will!
Good to see Will wearing his safety footwear in the shop @00:28
i do love that Humble Specialized Chisel

Nice forks and nice raceface era bar ;)
GripX 36 starting to look really great fork for most. Still I'm sure everyone will be buying GriX2 38, because "they need it".
If you have the money who cares. I’ll buy just because I can and not because I need it
I dont get bitter on what people buy. Its their money. I shut up when i cant afford shit
I am happy to hear these blingy forks are going to be much cheaper, more durable and easier to service than the current ones 🙄
So it's almost the same design as DVO OTT?🤷♂️
Wonder if the new bushing makes a big difference or should we just replace the Grip 2 damper with one of the new ones on a semi recent fork.
Which one world you recommend for a 2023 Norco HT? Mainly for trails and small jumps
Carbon hardtail which one: new fox 32 performance (2025) or fox 34 FS kashima (2022/23)??

Is the new Damper compatible with the previous 2021 Fox 32?
Nice vid mate. but why is this so compressed?
Can you upgrade and replace a regular GRIP damper (34er 140mm fork, maybe even from a Rhythm) with the new GRIP X dampers?
Cheers from Switzerland

Following here
Not for a Rhythm, you couldn't even put Grip2 in one. You can for 2021+ Performance and up.

Was the Grip X "noisy" when going deep into compression??? Have heard mixed opinions on this.......universally Grip X2 is totally silent.

Did the person who decided to paint the lowers gold get fired? Because they should be.
Haha I could never buy a gold fork
I don’t have enough +1’s to possible give this. It’s possibly the ugliest fork I’ve ever seen 😂
YUK! Well done Fox. No way l am buying that. Haha.
Whats that specialized hardtail with the 32 on it?

Luckily for you it's just a limited edition colour! Fox will be making the standard colours available for the 2025 fork lineup. [Wil]

Design and colour is 🤢. Why, fox, why?
Make it black, white and gold.

Color is terrible, looks like a fake.
