When I got my first oil change at Mountain Motorsports last year they didn't know how to reset it, so I had to leave with the warning on after the service was done. I rode like that until today when I found this video lol (I could've gone back for them to finally do it but, procrastination, ya know)
I can’t change the date on mine it’s stuck at 01/01/2020 (dealer did my first oil change) I’m doing the rest I got the jump completed and it went to the dealer menu but yeah dates are stuck I can change the mileage it’s no big deal just curious
@@MixedGrid I fixed it the date and time was wrong so when I went into dealer mode I couldn’t exceed the current day which was set to 01/01/2020 I fixed the date and time and it’s fine now
What do u me jump? Like u gotta jump start the plugs? This is my first motorcycle & i unplugged my 2024 Suzuki gsx 8r & I don’t get what u mean by jump but when I unplug it & go to the screen nothing changes
If you watch the video you'll see the wire I use to go between two of the ports in that red connector. It's verify specific which two you put it in. Jumping in this instance is talking about this process. Watch how I setup the wire and listen to what I say in the video about it.
To clarify for anyone else. If you do it wrong it pops a 10a fuse that is located under the driver seat. The tool to remove the seat is built into the bottom of the passenger seat. Glad you got it fixed.
If nothing happened then you didn't jump the two correct pins, or you didn't make good continuity between them. My solution is well vetted in the community as valid and working. Hopefully you get it right next try.
Manual is 3,750miles ODOMETER for next service. I'm already at ~600miles in this video. 3,750 - 600 = 3,150miles. I want it to alert me a little early so I can order oil/filter. Thus set for 3,100 miles it starts counting down from 3,100miles as you ride. You are NOT setting this number for what ODO number you want it to alert at. At least that's how I understand it. I'll let you know if I'm wrong. Hope that helps.
Perfect explanation of process. Completed in less than 5 minutes. Appreciate the information.
Glad it helped!
Thank you so much for making this, appreciate it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you very much!
Great video, thanks for making it. Have it saved for later..
Glad to help!
Thank you!
No problem!
Mountain Motorsports almost had me pay an hour of labor for that, I’d rather have that on my screen for the next 5 years lmao
Ouch. Well now you know how to do it yourself. Just don't mix up where you jump the wire, or you'll blow a fuse.

Weird. I'm not sure. Sorry

So i did the wrong hole and it did a little spark, did i damage something?
Everything seems to work at first glance .
You likely popped a fuse. Common happening for people.
@@MixedGrid Sorry for my ignorance, where do i find this fuse and do i need to change it ?
Sorry, I didn't get notification on your reply. It should be under the "drivers" seat. The fuse box is just behind the battery(rear side of bike).
I tried this and got network error and the bike won’t start 😅 I think I put them in the opposite side, anyway you heard on how to fix that?
Replace the ignition 10 amp fuse. The same thing happened to me.
@@abc123eddy gotcha yup you’re right haha thank you man

You can use a paper clip?
Yep. That would work just fine.
only a teeny tiny one, regular hell no
Actually just tried this and nothing happened. Couldnt reset it. I have 37 mi left before service but ive already done the 600 mi service

@@MixedGridim not diminishing you or questioning you. I jumped the same two pins with a paper clip. I’ll try again at some point.
Thankyou. Suzuki is so stupid for making this necessary I have a full access screen like wtf.
Agreed. Anti consumer repair.
3100? How’s this math working? lol. Should still be 3750 yeah?
