That's always difficult to say! Take the risk and wait and get a free upgrade or lock it in, in advance? If you need the extra space I would take the offer but if you think the standard room is enough then take the risk! Also don't forget you can also upgrade with cash at check in but there is no guarantee if it will be cheaper or more expensive than your current offer! So it really depends on your budget if you choose to take the offer. I am always cheap and take the cheaper option and hope for an upgrade 😅 but theres only 2 of us and if I needed romantic and alone time with wife I would take the 1 bed residence and keep the kids on the sofa bed in the living room and close the doors to the bedroom part 😅 sorry if my answer was not so helpful but really depends on your budget and needs! 🙈

Hi, I've booked a surprise 50th holiday for my other half to Dubai. I have booked on the palm for the retreat. But looking to change hotels. Which did you prefer, the hilton or sofitel please ?
I really don't know about the full board rates as I never book them and when it comes to drinks I usually just buy my own at the shop in the mall at the Palm and take them with me. Of course we sometimes have drinks at the hotel beach for example but they aren't cheap! As for the hotel I think I prefer the sofitel for a real resort feeling and the rooms are much bigger. But if you want to explore dubai a bit more then hilton is more convenient and cheaper. Personally I didn't like the retreat as much as sofitel or hilton so both are an upgrade in my opinion. What you might want to look into is booking the hilton via hilton impresario agent to get extra benefits like lounge access and breakfast plus some spending credit if it makes sense.

I've been reading people's posts stating that cold drinks & water is £10 😮 I can't book via hilton as I've already booked with a company, but they're asking double the price to amend hotel to what it actually costs to book a holuday with them. Bloody disgraceful really.
The gym is apparently quite good but I haven't visited it yet! We ended up just having fun instead! And yes you can smoke on the balcony for sure, but I don't know if there are any rooms where you can smoke inside. Otherwise at the pool, bar, outdoor seating in restaurant or beach it's allowed.
@@SMC4free hi! you can book a couples spa package where you get to have a massage and use the jacuzzi together without other people interrupting . The changing rooms you go through to get to the spa area are separated for men and women. But the rest is not for couples only. Even single people can enter and use facilities.
@@Anaszyzper night ? no not at all! Was much cheaper maybe 1200 but I used my suite night upgrades and booked standard room and got upgrade. Also I used my points to offset the cost so in the end I paid 1000 for 3 nights 😁

BUT there is a free buggy service 24H so you can get driven to any place you want, the beach, the restaurant, the spa, breakfast etc and they come quite quickly, so really you could choose any room. If you prefer to walk or to be near the lobby then best to stay in the hotel part and not the residence part and ask for easy access room when you book!
@@polis911 I also prefer the real open sea but for people like my wife who can't swim that well and for kids this is very goods and safe! Also good for watersports like hydrofoil. I was also surprised to see how much sea life there was. But it is definitely not an adventurous or exciting sea 😂

Problem is with sea. it is a lagoon where the water is still and there are no waves. The open sea is an experience. this is one big bore
