Two of Apple's products that I have always thought were great for the average consumer: The regular Mac Mini and the MacBook Air. The M3 was/is still excellent for that audience. If the M4 Macbook Air doesn't add a new port or helpful new feature, I don't see a reason to get it over a discounted M3 Air.
I’d be happy if Apple would fix the problem of not being able to use an Apple watch to unlock a Mac Mini M4 that has more than one user account on it. Come on Apple, this problem has existed for years.
I just wish/hope Apple would put the second USBC port on the right side of the MacBook Air, so we can charge the device from both sides. I mean, the M4 has at least two thunderbolt buses natively now. Why should Apple restrict USBC charging from both sides as a pro feature?
The current chassis is objectively better on every aspect despite being thicker. They only need (eventually) to make the 16 inch as thin as the 14 inch, add tandem oled, Dynamic Island, even bezels around the screen, 1to storage/24go of ram as standard and it will be practically perfect.
I am rockin my2011 21 in iMac till the new larger iMac comes out. How hard would it be to put an m4 chin in a studio display or a pro display or both? Step on the gas Apple! that sound you hear is market share eroding. I am available for consulting too. lol
I don’t understand, apple make a M5, M5 pro with a connector so the M5 max is two M5 pro’s highly bined (it’s already got 20 gpu cores just maybe make it so the max has 40 gpu cores and like 24 cpu cores 16p and 8e (to account for a lot of extra performance from the p cores) then make a dedicated M5 ultra, and a extreme chip which is just 2 ultra chips?
hi Drew. I recently upgraded from a MacBook M1 (16GB RAM) to a MacBook M4 with 24GB RAM, and I’ve noticed something odd. On my M1, the system used about 12GB of RAM when idle. However, on my M4, it consumes 18GB of RAM while idle. For example, Google Drive alone is using around 4GB of RAM even though it’s not actively doing anything. Is this normal behavior, or could something be misconfigured? I’d really appreciate your insights
The camera should be top-centre of the screen, the sort of functionality offered by Dynamic Island should be, and is, in a corner of the screen. In MacOS it is top right, in Windows it is bottom right.
@@Noah-xn5th Why? Competing products are things like the Lenovo ThinkStation P620, which is the one I have with 512GB RAM, HP Z8, and Dell Precision 7960 (this one can go up to 8TB, and yes that is RAM not storage, fully maxxed out version costs £351,773.64). The old Intel Mac Pro could go up to 1.5TB RAM. The 192MB maximum of the new one just isn't going to cut it in this market.
I just want a 27” already. Is that too much to ask? It was a huge success. And it’s obvious they are deliberately avoiding it. Maybe it’s in an effort to direct those users to the studio display? But for those users that want a big screen but just have very basic computing needs and just want an all in one.
To be fair, current MacBook pros are already exceptional. All we need is 1 to standard next year, tandem oled and Dynamic Island by 2027, smaller chin bezel and no more cracking from the chassis ( please Apple). Then it would be perfect imo
I just want a wedge shape damn it. The 2000 nit nano texture mini LEDs with 4 billion colors is PLENTY. Besides. Mac are meant to live over 5 years. I don’t trust tandem or any sort of OLED at that size to survive. Like dude I leave my laptop on to play music while I sleep, you don’t think over 900 nights of doing that won’t imprint the wallpaper?
Genmoji is underwhelming and I’ll admit, I was kinda looking forward to it when announced. Image playground is not so great either. My iPhone 16PM really doesn’t feel much different than my 15PM on iOS 17. I mean the tinted icons are cool and the iMessage updates are cool but that’s kinda it. Wish there were more Ai features. Type to Siri is elite though!
Kinda had a feeling the mac studio was the “real” mac pro. Toward the late rumor game when the mentioned how the mac pro would be smaller and lack internal expansions, it functionally ends up the same as the studio. Sad day for tower users and those that like the pro mac, but honestly most of us werent that market anyways. Now can we just slap an m chip inside the old trashcan mac body and call that the mac pro? 😅😂
But why ? You can’t work seriously on a screen that small and there is no point having a computer this small in your back pack. The 14 inch are already baby size computers
@@r0main.895 The 12" MacBook was a game changer for me. It was the perfect on the road companion for emails and office apps when I'm away from my Mac desktop. they need to stop trying to include ultra chips in the studio. stop at Max so it can get upgraded more often. leave ultra for the Mac Pro. I want an M4 max studio but can't because of the ultra chips suck. if I have to wait til 2026 for a new studio, I will just get a base pro mini and go back to my PC for heavy lifting.

M4 Extreme cancelled, makes the Mac Pro a worthless option next to the M4 Ultra Mac Studio unless it has massively more GPU cores.

32” iMac with an extra large chin just for Drew! 😂
Just kidding
I want to see SFP+ network connector or speed-up versions of it. And less crazy add on-pricing for memory and storage.
Honestly genmogi is nice because there are not emojis for everything
IMO , Dynamic Island would only make sense if the screen was touch .
New 32” studio display
Thanks for the vids delivered in a entertaining way
