Yep. Good policy. Have you seen the going rate for staccatos in California? Lol becahse of their handgun roster system only Leo’s can buy off roster guns like a staccato or p320 etc and for civilians the only way you can get your hands on one of the few legal methods is if the officer who bought one decides to sell it and they set the price and the usual mark up for a $2500-2800 staccato p (which the officers pay even less than msrp because of blue line discount 😂) and their markup is 3k-4k+ smh. I wish staccato would quit bending over for law enforcement

You don’t understand what qualified immunity is. It covers civil liability. If the shoot is legitimate it prevents civil suit against the officer. If the shoot was unjustified then it does not apply and they can be sued. It had nothing to do with criminal liability.
Similar to if you shoot a burglar in your home that is trying to kill you, you can be sued in a civil court by the person you shot or their family regardless of justification. Qualified immunity prevents officers who are proven to have done nothing wrong from being sued. In those cases the city and department can still be sued and usually end in a settlement before it makes it to court.
That’s right a bad guys family can get paid even if the officers actions were beyond reproach.
Another example, OJ Simpson was found criminally innocent but guilty in civil court. Therefore OJ had to pay.

You have to choose the closest handgun and configure it the same. A California citizen can buy a Glock 17 Gen 3 and have the slide milled for the Trijicon RMR and put on a Surefire X300 Ultra or Turbo light or a Streamlight TLR-1 HL. We only get 10 round mags though so you own twice as many mags. It shoots the same bullets.

EVERYBODY is responsible for every round that leaves their gun…DUH
I am all for LEO’s having excellent equipment but if a civilian was allowed to have the same self-defense equipment and if he ever had to use it, he’d be accused of owning something that was “only meant to kill more efficiently and therefore was looking for an opportunity to kill someone”. Those would be the almost the exact words of the prosecution in a state that doesn’t actually give a shit about the lives of its citizens, they only care about control.
So, this department has a more efficient killing device and at quite a hefty price tag - Nicely Done.
It’s very telling that the trained citizenry aren’t allowed to effectively protect themselves unless they’re of the wealthy elite - the peasants are denied permits, have IGNORANT mag limits and if they use their weapon in obvious self defense they have their permits revoked.

What about magazine companies that sell their rifle and pistol mags to LE since Cali has a magazine restriction? You guys gonna stop buying the magazines to go with your guns? Get serious now.
Edit: yes I realize that it’s hypocritical for LE in a state like California to have access to firearms that the citizens but directing the hate at a company that is just trying to make money is ludicrous. That’s a silly statement. Can you provide what law enforcement firearms training you have completed to attest to that? I’ve been through Tucson police department, Phoenix PD and MSP. While there are some differences, some agencies have firearms training several times per month to include shoot house training, SIMS training, live fire training, ammo boxes given to each officer each month for self practice, bi-yearly qual, yearly qual, various drills etc. This is for regular patrol officers and tac response, but Swat is even more. No a staccato is not the same as a Taurus-even for those who have never fired a gun before. No where near the same. People almost always shoot staccatos better than other handguns because they have minimal recoil, shoot flat and smooth, provide the shooter was a stable grip, proper proportions etc.
