Sugar sector need lots of support from government policy to survive or make profits, major challenge is price of sugar cane which is increased without linking it with sugar price. Cane price in india is highest in the world . This delink/ insulate indian sugar market from world market , its different in Brazil and other sugar producing countries ....
Good basic interview. This is known to all who understand the sugar trade basics. The write questions could be if you are so knowledgeable why did you invest in Brazil without understanding the market and bought at the highest levels, why you took only risk and got your share holder skewed big time . Second question is why you did not sell if you had certain opportunities in the beginning and sold when the pricing was at lowest and eventually had to be kicked out of the company by selling to wilmar the entire stake. Last question is you started as a good entrepreneur why did you not look into indian opportunities when balrampur was available at good prices.... He looks much depressed in his interview vs what i have seen him as an entrepreneur with shree renuka.. Thanks to overambitition and overconfidence.. You let your shareholders down....
Can ethanol be exported...also u didn't focus if suger prices are increasing then sugercane prices will also be increasing..so operating ratios remains intact....so bottom line is operational efficiency and increase in volumes
