In this video, I demonstrate how to combine concatenation with an IF condition.
In the first scenario, I only want to concatenate a cell if it contains a text value. If the cell is empty I don't want it to be included in the concatenated text string.
In the second scenario, I want to concatenate values in a column if a condition is met in another column. I use the TEXTJOIN function to achieve this.

You cannot imagine how grateful I am for your tutorial. The last example you showed is exactly what I needed and I've been searching on UA-cam and the internet for this since I can remember. I'm so happy 😊. Thank you !!
Thank you very much! That TEXTJOIN trick just saved a project I thought was doomed :D
Fantastic tutorial Chester. I love TEXTJOIN function! Thank you.
Great video, thank you. The deliminator I used was to go down a line. Worked perfectly.
I've been looking for this for ages! Thank you very much! '😍
loved it
you are genius , especially the last one .
thank you I finally got it
Cannot thank you enough!
Thank you!!!
Thanks
Thanx
great
Fantastic video! I would have said I'm rather good at Excel but didn't know about the "&" method, or TEXTJOIN! I'm actually looking for a way to create a "Full Name" column, but having data pulled from a "Known As" column if the data exists, if not, look at "First Name". I can get it to do it separately but trying to minimise the amount of columns I have so was looking at nesting the formulas using If and Concatenate. Any thoughts?
This is exactly what I need to do in the second example, but it isn't working for me. In your example the result I am getting is bringing all values in column A to each cell in column E and only if the values in B2 and D2 are equal, otherwise it returns blank. So in E2, E3 in your example it pulls in all data from column A and E4-E6 are blank. Why is this happening?
How about 2 ifs?
The cell with the answer has too much data and the textjoin cell stays blank? I know the formula is good, because it works with small amounts of data. How do I stop this error?
