  • Even after being full-time RVers for 6 years, we can still make mistakes. We have to replace our Carefree awning arm on our 2015 Coachman Pursuit because of an "oops!" moment.

Thank you so very much for the video. Too weird, I am a 32 year Veteran, I have the same exact scenario. I am about to swap that arm out. However, I am not sure which Carefree I have. So I will call Gulfstream tomorrow. Thank you very much!! APPRECIATE!

Thanks for the video.. I'll be doing both sides of mine as the water pooled on the canvass and twisted both arms.

We purchased it on Amazon. Look on the arm, and you should be able to find the make and model. You can purchase just one if that is all you need or a pair. Make sure to measure the arm to make sure you get the right size.

That noise you get from opening or closing your awning is the gas shock. All you need to do is clean the exposed tube on the shock and then rub bees wax on it and it will be silent! You may have to do this every 3 months. I use a toilet bowl wax ring instead of bees wax, it's cheaper and works like a charm!

Nicely done video. Which model of Carefree is that? Eclipse?

Very informative. I feel like they didn't put butyl tape behind my bolts. I used a moisture meter and it seems wet on the inside where the awning is, using a moisture meter. I don't want to have to check it, but might put caulking around to redirect the water. Thanks for your video.

Very informative, question do you cover the holes with butyl tape and if so how did you see the holes to line up to put the arm on or did you make new holes. Thanks

Yes I did. Then, I took the screw and poked a small hole so I could line it up.
