- From Wikipedia:
Gordian Knot is an American rock band directed by bass guitarist Sean Malone. At times its shifting lineup has included Steve Hackett of Genesis, Bill Bruford of King Crimson and Yes, Ron Jarzombek from Watchtower and Spastic Ink as well as Jim Matheos of Fates Warning, several of Malone's former bandmates from Cynic and John Myung from Dream Theater.
This band have released two simply mind-blowing albums, Emergent being one of the best albums of the 00s but sadly got taken down from SonicWavePassenger.
RIP Sean Malone. My favorite bass player.. Two Sean's jamming out out there in a star somewhere :')
Old nostalgic video of Sean Malone about 1987-88.
I am the drummer.

A FB friend posted of his demise today. I've never heard of this band before. They're good! Very sad.
@@suijuris7921 Whoa man, thank you very much for this! It must've be devastating to have known and played with him.
@@suijuris7921 Wow,Sean had his own sound even back then! I really liked Cynic when Focus came out and all the musicians in that band were some of the best I have ever heard! RIP Sean Malone and Sean Reinhart.
That sucks to hear. Rest in peace... It just sucks to hear, his bass skills were impeccable and his ear, too. Damn.
RIP Sean Reinert
:/
Now Malone is gone as well. Both in the same year...
Nostalgic video of Sean Malone and I onstage together.
R.I.P. Sean.
It was an honor to hold the rhythm with you brother.

2020 is a shit year
@@suijuris7921 hi! Tell me, who recorded and shared this video? Also, how is your mom and dad?
This is a very sad day. Gordian Knot have been one of my favourite bands since 2008 and some of their songs really got me through rough times. I found their music to be beautiful and dark and so fucking prog it moved me every time. The individual musicianship is remarkable. The craftsmanship is exquisite. RIP Sean Malone. Thank you. Thinking of Sean Reinert on this day too. Thank you also.
I grew up in South Florida myself. I remember these guys would play at the local venues in the early 90s Cynic that is
RIP
An elegant music by an elegant bass player 🙏
Thanks for this post! Wow.. had this on Disc.. might still gotta check if I do. Most importantly.. I forgot how effing great this is! Better than I remembered... Man shits powerful..so good Seans will live on forever 🤘🤘
Revisiting Sean Malone's music, due to today's sad news about him actually passing by committing suicide in late 2020. The loss is completely unbearable, RIP Sean and thank you for unending inspiration.
I can blame China for Sean's suicide, but I can't be sure. Many people committed suicide or got hooked on drugs during the isolation. I think that was their hope.

Well said. Well said. I mean Sean Reinert and I told him to his face he's the best drummer In the world 🌎 in 2008
I'm listening to this band for the first time, right now. And it is blowing my f**king mind.

The best instrumental album of all time. Rip Sean Malone and Sean Reinert, you where both beyond compare...
Ron jarzombek is a maniac. The calmness and chaos of this album is like an acid trip
One of my favorite albums of all time. Fell in love with it in 1999 and still loving it.
Same here! Old 1999, while I was waiting for Tool's new record, I found this somehow on the internet and download it.
Since 1999 my chub has not diminished for this album. So tasty.... not the chub.

Such a special album for me. It got this when it came out and emailed Sean Malone about how much I loved it. This was at a time when the internet was pretty new technology. He replied back to me relaying his appreciation of my sentiments. He will never be forgotten…
R.I.P. Sean Malone, thanks for your music.
Some stunningly beautiful moments on this album. Brings back my teenage years. RIP Sean & Sean
me too. really sad.
Just found out this morning that Sean has passed. Amazing musician. RIP
Un album magnifique d’une richesse musicale époustouflante, les 5 musiciens sont des virtuoses , vous rentrez dans une dimension parallèle, vous rentrez dans le monde de gordian knot …. Un chef-d’œuvre …
So this is where all those instrumental prog bands from the late 00's and early 10's stole their ideas from. Amazing stuff. RIP Sean.
Progress bands have been around for a while. Spastic ink in the 90s. Or even Goblin going all the way back to the 70s. I'm sure theres some shit neither of us has ever heard of even farther back.
YUP! Between this and Liquid Tension Experiment you will find about 20 years of vibes other people stole! Haha
Lol yes basically every bassist and drummer from 2000 on was stealing licks from the Seans.
Don't forget Michael Manring "Thonk", Attention Deficit, Spaced Out,etc. but Swole MF is correct. However, I do think you're referring to the Metal tinged Prog Fusion stuff so I agree with you as well. You should check out Exivious even though they were a later band. They were one of the few I heard that incorporated more traditional Jazz with their Metal. Rock on!
What a great loss! RIP Sean.
You gave the world a wonderful gift. Take care on your journey. RIP Sean Malone.
You rest in peace Sean Reinert and Sean Malone ❤️❤️
Rip Sean Malone thank for you inspiring music .
we have lost many incredible musicians in recent times, bowie, hollis, walker; but no musician's death has ever shaken me up like sean's. what a loss.
My favourite drummer :'( rip

Perfectly complements some fine weed, and a good red wine. Superb stuff.

Thanks for music! Sean Malone and Sean Reinert! You will live forever in your music! Thanks for all the beauty and heaviness! Fly among the stars! My musical heroes among their equals in planes of pure inspiration! THANK YOU BOTH! THANK YOU ALL FOR LIIIIIIIISTENING!!! BEST TO YOU ALL IN 2022 TO FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOREVER!!!
A true inspirational piece of art.. Thank you Sean Malone
RIP Sean Malone :(
Rivers dancing and reflections is PURE BLISS. FULL BODY CHILLS.
Love me some Reinert. Lucky enough to meet him. Such talent in a much too short of a life.
That’s awesome
RIP Sean Malone!
Grace should be played for all the world to hear and listen.
One of the people who played a catalytic role in how I write and listen to music passed away in such a glorious way. I estimate that his presence will belong to several more generations ..
R IP Sean Malone!!!! Quem não é esquecido nunca morre!!!!!
RIP Sean Malone...
My favorite band i never hear of (till 5 years ago.)..felt like i totally missed out...on this serious talent.
I totally missed out on this.
I really enjoyed this music I got lost within myself day dreaming about my life
RIP GREAT SEAN
i was revisiting it after years forget it...., holly grail..., is amazing...., river dancing my fav...., fantastic melodies....
I 've had this album for several years and I liked it , of course. Revisiting today, however, was a totally different experience. What a fantastic album! A true masterpiece.
Same here! I was/am a huge fan of Death, Cynic, and etc....For some reason this project came to mind again today....I'm glad I chose to revisit!
RIP Sean. I wish this was on streaming
Rest in peace maestro Sean Malone
Sean Malone... 💔
Just found out Reinart Passed.. ! I honestly.. knew of him from Gknot to think he and Malone are gone! Crazy!!! Watched a SR special was cool! Can't wait to dive into his past
Love this album since its release (i was 10 back at that time). Didn't know about Sean Malone's suicide. Feeling sad while listening to the album, but also impressed how good its quality remains. RIP Sean Malone, you left us such an amazing work, it's a pity life has been so hard on you.
RIP to 2 Seans. Man, 2020 sucks on an epic scale.
how are you feeling about 2021 buddy?
R.I.P Sean Malone! :(
RIP Sean Malone 😪😪😪
the bass sounds like a trumpet... I love all Malone´s music
Cynic all day today and ended up here tonight.
Here all day "Ascension Codes"...
@@pmtnoise5855 Awesome ! I just finished an oil painting rendition of Ascension Codes. It came out great.
@@ThePoehladian That´s great!! i love the new album
@@pmtnoise5855 Thanks ! Yep, I do too.
This record is a jewel
This made me feel something for the music again, maybe even for the first time. Listening to it again all this time later, I get those same chills. That feeling of comfort and at other times discomfort. Something clicks in just right. A masterpiece, rock on!
Great comment 🤟
Best winter music for a prog head .I love it.sorry so many of these guys passed away.but they left us some great music.
Thank you Sean, and Godspeed...
RIP Sean Malone
What a gem of an album. Thanks for uploading!
Rip Sean Reinert
RIP Sean Malone.
Great album, so is the other. Have owned them for 20 years.
Ron Jarzombek of blotted science on guitar 😃 I remember the first time I heard this song nearly 10 years ago!
Whoa I missed this one! I thought Emergent was the only GK album. Always great to hear more Sean+Sean.
What you can expect from the band having 2 Champan stick players and one Warr guitar? Super-technical (but not boring) prog/metal/jazz-rock mix
Still can't believe this piece
Great guitar playing nice relaxing beautiful arrangements great riffs
Uno de los mejores álbums de la música prog, al igual que Emergent, ambos eternos entre las joyas del género, una pena haber perdido al gran creador, Sean Malone.
R.I.P. Sean.
Man! The outro solo to Rivers dancing is absolutely insane! Just can't get enough 😮
Thi is simply a mindblowing work. Super band and super album!
aun me tiene consternado el hecho de que Sean se haya ido, este álbum es una maestría
What a great new find this album was, how did it evade me so long!, loving the bit at around 41:00.
These sounds travel with the time
I noticed many stringed instruments with different styles and it was phenomenal and well done hyper creative !
Compared with what i know about playing electric guitar i need to explore different tones instead of my clean blues settings !
I like progressions in rock and am drawn to a elegent style of classic Jazz so i mix the two together and it works for me !
I use a analoge delay pedal that just fills the room abit with sound and i am in the concert hall lol !
This is a wild album but very interesting , if you live your life as frantic as the music is you will crash & burn in my opinion lol !
the best music
かっこよすぎる。もっと早くに出会いたかったなぁ。
I completely agree
Rest In Peace Sean Malone
RIP the great maestros

Not gonna lie that intro is so freakin creepy with a headset on full volume
