VoB vocalist and guitarist, Firda "Marsya" Kurnia, hopes that the latest song from her band can educate all parties that women are not public property. Marsya said that their fear of violence against women would get worse in the future, which was the reason for making this song. "In our opinion, what should be encouraged is education as well. Because you can't keep ordering women to dress like this, like that," said Marsya. According to Marsya, education is one of the first ways to prevent violence that often happens to women. Marsya added, the song "[Not] Public Property" is also a vessel for the voices of women who are survivors of sexual violence. Marsya admits that the idea to work on the song was born out of concern and people's response to survivors of sexual violence. The idea actually emerged from two years ago. Composition of music was done from home due to the social restrictions during the Covid-19 pandemic. "So we feel that in the midst of the victims' trauma and fear, they still often fuss about how they were dressed when the violence occurred, questioning their bodies when the violence occurred. They say the victim contributed to the incident of violence," said Marsya. The three members of VoB feel that their own interests need to be emphasized in songwriting because of their role as Indonesian women.

Hey Mike and thanks for more Voice of Baceprot! Interesting that you mentioned death metal, as they were mentored by members of Hellcrust and Deadsquad, two Indonesian death metal bands. Also, VOB has recently left their previous management company and supposedly are going independent, so we'll see what that "freedom" does for their songwriting and recording production!

VOB has taken over my life much like BAND-MAID did when I first discovered them. They're kickass and bring the music right to you! I've come to really appreciate & love this band! 🤘🤘
Please correct me if I’m wrong anyone, the drummer doesn’t have a kit at home to practice on. I saw them talking about it in an interview/ promotional? I love the chunkiness of the openings. But it sounds like they are looking for “their sound”. Trying out a lot of stuff. I don’t know where they are headed but I’m enjoying the ride.
They are good at what they do and like you do, I hear Sabbath in there, actually a lot of BS. I hear The Plasticines (also a girl band) and other influences. I don´t consider their political problems to make music but I see similarities to The Warning when it comes to doing what you believe in, overcoming obstacles to reach your goal. I am a TWA member, but I can appreciate the VOB, in small doses. I like your reactions where you analyze the technique and gear.
