She seems so sweet! It almost feels harsh watching Seth talking to her but I know it's just his sense of humor.

Screaming is not singing. There is much more effort to get the notes out for her now. Singing should be effort less. Look at Barbara Cook in her 60s with effortless tone. Alice Ripley sing stretching and forcing those big belts out which is indicative of vocal damage.

Please, before you get that part, go to a video about Evita's actual days and see that she is not as harsh as requiered in the musical.

The score isn't difficult, the range is. It's a small but major difference in something like Evita versus something like Sweeney Todd (which *is* a difficult score).
Alice Ripley is the original flawless human being.

I was at the first preview of the Evita Revival in March 2012. I was so underwhelmed by Elena Roger's voice. Not enough power.
